Flexible and concise backstory: Kysofrax was a mage born in a small village. His mother died when he was young and a weak wizard took him in. He was later apprenticed to a better mage, although he was quite fit and used training in weapons to disguise himself as a brutish warrior to escape the reaping, going by the name Krys. Eventually he used his power and talent for deception to work for a thieve's guild, until he was given a job he questioned. Now he's looking for work as an adventurer and watching his back for knives.

How long have you played DnD?: Five years.
Best/worst DnD moments to date: Best: Finishing a harder modified version of OotA without any character death. Worst: When a DM I had ignored the four paragraph backstory I wrote for one of my characters(I'm flexible about it and I can change backstories easily, but the DM did things I specifically asked them not to do during session 0).
I can't add character art right now, but he looks normal, he's about 5' 11" with green eyes, brown hair, and wears average looking armor.
I repeat custom backgrounds or lineage/races are considered homebrew and therefore unavailable. There is enough core material to choose both from please adjust your PCs I have chosen two-party members so far out of the submissions. If you have not been invited either your app lacks information, you have not followed my instructions, or your PC mirrors the ones I have already selected. I have chosen a barbarian and a rouge. If you still would like to play but have submitted either of these classes please submit another PC for consideration. I will not start the game until I have selected the best RPers with the best PCs possible!
Thank you!

Backstory:
Gale was raised by a single mother, who was a priestess at a fairly large temple. She spent much of her childhood there, befriending the priests and patrons and learning the ways of its deity. As she grew older, she began to question whether staying at the temple was truly what she wanted to do with her life. It was then that she was contacted in a dream by the deity, offering her powers of healing and an opportunity to travel the world working towards its goals. After consulting with her mother, she accepted the gift and left home, beginning to work with various adventurers and nargels to bring good and light to the world.
Best/worst DnD moments to date: Best was in a game I DMed when the players finally put together clues to realize an NPC they trusted was one of the bad guys. Worst was working with a DM who barely let players have any agency or roleplay moments.
Just to make sure you saw: I updated with Character Art. I really shouldn't apply when I'm half asleep, I miss things. Sorry! If there are any other areas you want me to work on, I'll gladly do so. Thanks for your consideration!
Noted - I had taken custom linage as core now due to Tasha's Cauldron of Everything. I have updated my character and made appropriate changes for your consideration.
Apologies. I didn't realize that's how Tasha's update read on a sheet. That's fine!

Ralojor Koehlanna - War Cleric - Wood Elf - Outlander
Ralojar is the last surviving member of a village that had been overrun by goblins when he was quite young. He escaped by strangling the goblin that caught him as he tried to run. His desperation, and willingness to fight marked him by a god of war. Not a god of bold glory through battle, but fearful, terrified life at the expense of your enemy’s death. Ralojar grew, and has heard his God’s words on the wind, in his dreams, and written in the lines of faces he sees. He’s now come to the city of Whitehaven to resupply before continuing his endless mission of killing goblins, and other threats to the villages far from the sight of the rest of civilization. He doesn’t come to the city often, but he looks forward to those moments when he can enjoy the company of people. Sometimes, he lingers, just hoping for that chance to do something with a more measurable, lasting impact. https://www.dndbeyond.com/profile/nschrock/characters/44090301 I’ve been playing dnd (mostly pbp, but some live) for I think four or five years now? I’ve been DMing for about a year and a half and it’s awesome, mostly. Best moments: when I bring some threads together that have my players go flying into a mountain of RP, they get so excited that they just want to talk to each other about it. Today, they finally get a whack at a BBEG. It’s so exciting!
as a player: I had my wizard pick up the magic sword no one wanted (somehow) at level 2, and I used it as often as I could, and eventually used it to kill the BBEG at level 13, and my favorite part was leaving it behind after a couple years of character change and growth. This is followed closely by the time another player managed to lure Xanathar, priests of masque, slave rebels, and demon cultists to the same place without a plan and without telling anyone he’d done it. Trickery Clerics, man. Chaotic neutral. Best chaotic neutral I ever saw.

Ellyria is a magocracry on high, a living in a city in the sky. Dominating the heritage kingdoms of the continent of Embera below. The mages from Ellyria have become benevolent masters. The seek more power which is exhausting the intricate Spell Weave that gifts magic to all.
You are an adventurer answering a job board in the small lakeside city of Whitehaven. A crossroads of sorts half way between Lahiri, the kingdom of halflings, and Arorosa, the gnomish kingdom, on a lake rumored to be the home of a terrible beast. "On the ground" spell casters, outside the divine based magics, of any kind are now extremely rare. Arcane magic is mistrusted with Emerbains hiding their children from the reaping. Arcane talent is cultivated by Ellyrians. The reaping, lead by the mages of Ellyria, happens in all the lands of Embera. The mages from Ellyria seek out magic user manifesting any talent regardless of age and heritage or social standing and they are quickly taken to the city in the sky for training.
The Spell Weave is in crisis. The elders from all races of Emberains believe it's near the breaking point. You and your party will discover just how close Embera is coming to disaster.

Flexible and concise backstory Trained as a dancer from a young age, her mother spirited her away to join the Nargels, a secluded warrior tribe, when her aasimar abilities manifested not understanding they weren’t what the reapers were after. She then changed her focus from dance to battle with a scythe (reskinned great axe) throwing herself into trying to protect her new family and anyone else from the reaping and worse.
How long have you played DnD? 30+ years. Skipped 4e. A little more than a year in 5e now.
Best/worst DnD moments to date. Best: Playing 3.5 as a spiked chain wielder, my character regularly teased the rogue about her consistent nat 1s on stealth while having in often turned back on me as I would trip myself with my chain in combat rolling nat 1s to hit... Worst: Attempting to DM with a no longer friend in the group who had to have his way in the game period.

I'm also interesting in joining, but like Ursus_the_Grim, what's the current party composition looking like? Currently I can check games pretty frequently.
Posts can be throughout the day, though most start in the morning (~8am) ET and then possibly more evening/night (~9pm) ET. I think most have work so middle of the day is less active. (Hopefully I got that right!)

Name - Delmirev Nadarr
Class - Paladin, Oath of Redemption
Race - Dragonborn, Draconblood
Ability scores: 141515141511
Backstory - Nadarr is a middle aged dragonborn. He fought in his nation's military for most of his life. He had been the perfect soldier, following orders without question for the glory of his people and rising through the ranks. While serving, he met a dwarf named Boic who had joined the military because of family tradition. The two became fast friends. Boic eventually left the military to travel as a minstrel. Years pasted with the two meeting occasionally in towns to share stories and catch up. The nation went to war and Nadarr was called to the frontlines. As they defended their boarders, Nadarr's commander, a real nargel, got word of the enemy massing in a small fortress nearby. They assaulted the fortification at night and brutally stormed it with fire, catching the defenders off guard. The next day, Nadarr wandered the battlefield. During the attack something had seemed off. They were too disorganized, too untrained. Looking over the bodies, Nadarr didn't see soldiers, but farmers and blacksmiths hiding from the war. As he began to realize that they had attacked innocents, Nadarr saw a small familiar corpse. Laying in an alley, still clutching his dulcimer, was Boic. Nadarr recognized the area of the fortress, it was where he had lead his squad. Falling to his knees, Nadarr wept. Surrounded by innocents he had helped kill, Nadarr ripped his nation's symbol from his cloak. With tears in his eyes, he swore to redeem himself and to save those who couldn't save themselves. Upon Boic's dulcimer, Nadarr swore to only use violence as a last resort, even against evil. Taking his friends instrument, Nadarr set off for a new land where he could redeem himself and help others find the light.
How long have you played DnD? I've been playing dnd for around a decade since starting with my dads old AD&D books and playing most every edition since. Also some pathfinder experience. A lot of pathfinder. Currently running 2 games on here and one with my irl friends.
Best DnD moment to date: My players reaction to a session I ran of them exploring a wizard's tower and fighting an Allip at the end. It was the first big boss fight I ran and it went so well.
Worst DnD moment: I look back on this fondly it was a bad time. During high school another player decided to assassinate my character. My next character was built to be able to return the favor if needed since the DM was encouraging PvP. I think our characters killed each other over 7 times and kept getting res'd. Since then I have never played PvP cause good lord it sucked.
I can't add character art right now, but he looks normal, he's about 5' 11" with green eyes, brown hair, and wears average looking armor.
