"I'm going to investigate Wave Echo Cave," says Alarion, looking up from his book. He is a young half-elf, in his early twenties, with pale skin and blonde hair swept back casually. "One of my ancestors worked there long ago, back when the Forge of Spells was still operational. I've always been fascinated by the family legends of the place."
(at this point I would like characters to introduce themselves, in character, and have a few words to each other)
Cail is hunting, his primary livelihood when not adventuring. It's a good season to hunt rabbits in Phandalin and he's on the road there. He stands up from a spot at the side of the road, cleaning off his tea kettle and finishing a scone. "Mmf... That was not as good as Earl Grey, but the scones were quite nice."
Alarion looks at Cail. "Do you cook, or did you pick up the tea and scones in Neverwinter? If it is the first, I would be interested in trying some." After Cain answers, he looks back to his book and finishes the page, then closes it and turns to his travelling companions, ready to talk for now.

And now there's a drunk Paladin... interesting lol
I use it. He took the sharpshooter feat.
I have a weird sense of humor.
I also make maps.(That's a link)
I'll be afk a couple hours and back later to see what character sheets have been sent, no rush.
Drunk paladin is a little much, more like his courage is sufficiently bolstered to charge head long into combat?
Cail would be shooting from 600 feet away in this situation. It's definitely just strategy. He isn't scared of the dragon. Not at all.

Cail is a hot shot apparently!
We have enough members to start the campaign if you guys are ready?
I am.

As am I, when you are.
Late to the party but I'd love to join, if you'd have me. I would like to play a half-orc barbarian, out of the north.
Name: Grzak
Race: Half-Orc
Class: Barbarian
Breakfast: Nothing yet. Might check the waste bins behind the tavern later. It's amazing what some people throw away.

You are on the road.
Why are you on this road to Phandelver?
(at this point I would like characters to introduce themselves, in character, and have a few words to each other)
Phandalin is where you are traveling to, but why? What have you heard, what do you seek, and for what reason?

A couple humans, a cat-like humanoid and a half-elf.
Strange companions. How did they come to follow the same road?
