Sef snatches up one of the medallions before being ushered out. He then nods in agreement towards Ruz as he comments about the official. As the group moves away from the law master's court, he responds to Gale. "We should just move along to the smith probably. Although..." His words pause a moment as he continues walking. He then seems to suddenly have a different thought pop into his head. "Oh! Gale! Did I see you trying to get a look at whatever was keeping that official so busy?"
All the while, Sef is scanning the area and the people they are passing. Specifically he looks to see if there is any sign of the Dragonborn and Dwarf - or other people in the purple Ellyrian robes - that had exited earlier. (Perception: 17) He then also keeps an eye out to see if anyone seems to be paying the group any extra attention. (2nd Perception for second part, if needed: 19)
Sef doesn't spot the dragonborn or the dwarf. He does notice people are looking at them as the party passes through but not more so than just being a motley looking crew with an air genasi among them!

“But no living man am I! You look upon a woman...You stand between me and my lord and kin. Begone, if you be not deathless! For living or dark undead, I will smite you, if you touch him.” ― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Return of the King
"He had a list of births and deaths by year, and was trying to fill out a similar list of reapings. He wasn't getting very far with that, though. The list was fairly empty. I'm guessing he was stressed either because he lost the old records and was trying to make new ones, or because there weren't enough reapings and the folks in the sky were getting upset."Gale shrugs, not really sure, just theorizing. Maybe he was upset because his handwriting was awful or because he found something moldy in his breakfast.
"You have any eavesdropping to report?"Gale asks Sef with a knowing look. "You don't stand by the wall like that for nothing."
Sef nods his head slowly then answers very matter-of-factly. "It's that there's not enough. And reapers are coming tomorrow." His voice then grows a bit worried. "They mentioned a possible target - youngest daughter of a farming family."
Malcom grabs a medallion as well and quickly follows after the rest of the group. He keeps his head down, trying to avoid the gaze of those that look at the party while they pass.
After hearing Gale and Sef explain what the official was doing, he will become even more silent than usual. He just slowly walks after the rest of the grouo with a blank stare. If prodded, he would silently murmur. “We need to save her. It may be irrational, but I feel the obligation to try at least to give the family a warning. We may deal with the bandits first of course...” Malcom continues with a sigh. “Let’s just get to the smithy and get this over...” Afterwards he would be silent.
Gale raises her eyebrows when Sef responds, surprised she was actually correct.
"If we wait until after dealing with the bandits, we might be too late. We don't know how long it will take to complete the job, and they're coming tomorrow."She keeps her voice low as she speaks, not wanting any passersby to overhear. "Sef, did you get a name? We could try to find the family after we visit the smithy. Warning them is the least we can do."
Stepping back to walk alongside Malcom, Sef matches his lowered voice. "I agree. Maybe we could head back to the market and see if we could find the family? And then... well... I don't know."
As the party pauses to deliberate the busy townsfolk move about them. Some looking curiously at Gale while most just get on with their business. Down the street yje party can see plainly the sign for the smithy as well as a stone tower building, the only other stone building being the law master master's court, beside it. There are armed forces gathering outside as well as the wafting scent of forges in the air.

"It might be better to discuss away from prying eyes, anyways." Gale begins walking in the direction of the smithy. She makes eye contact with one or two of the people looking her direction, smiling as if there's nothing suspicious going on. "Do we all agree that something should be done, though?"She mutters to the party once they're moving again.
The party reaches the smith and the forge fire heat is already apparent as they approach. The forge us busy. Three separate forges are running. One smith looks he's forging a blade, one looks as if she's shaping a pauldron, and the last smith is repairing the banding on a cart wheel. A shop boy comes up to you as you come to the open forge. The boy is human with a shoot covered jovial face and a smile as you pause by the forge.
"Hello," the boy says with a toothy smile looking at Gale curiously pointedly, fascinated by the air genasi. "Are you new to the guard," he asks next looking at each of you now a bit skeptically.

OOC: He only have you the medallions and said to present them to the smithy for your supplies.
The boy gives Ruz a weird look.
"Ah, those should be worn," the boy gestures at the medallion. "You need to put them on," he adds motioning to his medallion, it's exactly the same but made of a different type of medal. It looks silver instead of the dull pewter-like alloy your medallion is made from. "Raise weapons against anyone without it visible and you're just as likely to get put in the manacles you're seeking," he adds chuckling moving towards a cabinet as three other boys in the forge seem to look at the party curiously.
"What...are you," one of the boys asks curiously at Gale with a grin his eyes wide with amazement.
He's a dirty lad like the other boys working at the fore. He's most likely in his early teens with a mop of blonde hair and a cherubic face.

Ruz looks at the medallion with heaps of skeptic pessimism. “This is not going to end well.” He mutters and puts the medallion on. “So about those manacles?”
Sef smiles as he watches the boys, and fetches the medallion from his pocket and affixes it near the neck of his cloak. "Thank you for letting us know. I figured it was enough to just have it with me." He steps back a bit, watching with amusement as the boys show their curiosity about Gale.
Gale chuckles, pinning the medallion to her chest."Wish I knew, kid. Something weird on my dad's side of the family. Thanks for the tip about the medallions, though. Wouldn't want to get ourselves arrested."Glancing down at her own once more, she notices the color difference. "Any reason for the colors? I assume they symbolize a rank or something?"
