Amaranth laughs, and for an instant, blanches a lighter violet, "I'm no glass-blower. Thinka me more like a' academic, just not your behind-the-desk sort." A pair of purple tendrils hands Knicknack an iron skillet. "Mind findin' a place for that? There ain't that much in here to begin with, so I bet most of the cupboards are bear." Seeker withdraws into the open nook. "Oh, and I ain't a boy either. My folk don't do that whole crazy gender cast-system deal you boned-folk got goin'. No judgement."
Prometheus scratches at some fraying stitches, and begins combing the ship, looking for somewhere spacious and comfortable enough for him to bunk. He whistles as he looks, his mismatched bottom and upper lips producing a tuneless melody. If he manages to find a place, he removes a massive holster from his back, holding both a massive sword, with a hilt of some whitish-beige material, and a smaller musket, with a stock made of that same material. He lays them down, as well as his heavy backpack, and returns to the upper decks.
"Say, captain, could you enlighten us as to when we shall be departing?"

"Well then let uss get underway. All handss to stationss!" Ssehei starts shouting out commands to the crew, getting the sky ship to start to sail off into the clouds. Command seems to be almost second nature to her, as if it where what she was born to do.

The ship lifts off, rising up through the snowdrift, and working its way through the crowded sky. The grey slate walls of Grag'Shar are soon distant, along with its airships and bustle. Within a day the sky is empty, crisp and silent. Below you see the brown stone and grey steel of the Great Northern Wall which marks the western edge of the Iron Empire. A generation ago it was the most important piece of military architecture in this part of the world. Four centuries of war strategy focused on The Wall, but with air travel becoming a staple of life on Q'rath Set, it became a third-rate concern. It now serves only to deter the barbarian tribes who've long since accepted it to be impenetrable. The supposedly impenetrable steel is beginning to show the first signs of rust. Considering the losses at the end of the war, and problems with the Imperial infrastructure since, some consider The Wall a metaphor for the Empire. Passing it is a clear sign that you are now over the Sea of Grass.
A little further to the south, among a copse of scrub trees, sits an orcish settlement, identifiable by the briers used to wrap buildings made by the plains orcs. It's a day away, and you can see a wagon caravan headed towards it from farther west. It's hard to know if these are slavers from here, or how many there are. The choice to put the settlement in the trees was probably done to defend against cavalry common to the plains.
Your ship is likely a distant dot to them, and likely a common sight this close to The Wall. Approaching too close might raise alarm though, or at least notice and suspicion. A common tactic is to fly above the cloudline, then activate a device on the ship called a drophopper, dropping the ship vertically and stopping it suddenly a story or two above the target. Other possibilities include landing the ship nearby for a ground assault or sending someone in on foot to scout.
Do we have any ranged weapons that would help us not getting damaged?

The ship has a ballista on either side, which can only hit ground targets if you're fairly low, as they're more meant for ship-to-ship combat. You also have a cauldron, which can drop it's contents on targets below it. It's usually filled with boiling oil or, after long voyages, the accumulated excrement of the crew, likewise boiling.
Amaranth Seeker rolls onto deck "Oh, are we raiding? We're raiding right? What sort of place are we at? What are we after?" One tendril extends from each of Seeker's sides, into which coalesce a pair of jagged, venom-dripping hand scythes. Seeker giggles manically and goes into an ecstatic spin.
"I think we are raiding an orc tribe. READY THE CAULDRONS!"

(Those ropes aint gonna pull themselves. Also I was thinking Lila may be the navigator if no-one objects?)
