Thariv's eyes narrow as the darkness seems to swallow everything around them. "What's happening here?"he whispers just loud enough for the others to hear.
He pauses for a moment and adjusts the heavy pack on his back, which seems to weigh him down but not slow him down. He shrugs it off, pulls out a torch and tinder and moves to light it against the dark.

Randall's eyes widen as he enters the area. An entire region obscured by a fog... There must be something immensely valuable here to protect, he thinks to himself. "Let's push onwards, I wonder what we can find in this place."

Tall shapes loom out of the dense fog that surrounds everything. The muddy ground underfoot gives way to slick, wet cobblestones. The tall shapes become recognizable as village dwellings. The windows of each house stare out from pools of blackness. No sound cuts the silence except for mournful sobbing that echoes through the streets from a distance.

Reelq pauses as he hears the sobbing, muttering something to his familiar before it takes flight and begins to move ahead. As it does so the kobold wizard seems to go unfocused, leaning on one of his companions. "Keep walking, I need to stay close so I can use him to see through."
The owl will fly ahead and attempt to hone in on the sound of the loud sobbing.

Reelq will let his senses fade from his familiar, having it stay there as he does his best to direct his companions to where the sound his coming from.
Thariv scowls a bit as the focus turns to the sobbing sound. "Might be best to find a tavern or inn,"he says, scanning the buildings that have come into view. "Or at least if we do want to find the weeping wailer, we can have 'em join us at an inn and get out of this nasty fog."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

Seeing an inn, Durthon grins "finally someplace where we can stay that's not in this mist. What do you say about having something warm to eat?" If there is no strong objection, the dwarf would walk up to the front door and enter the inn looking for a table big enough for them all.
Thariv nods at Durthon's words. "Yes, let's get inside and out of this fog,"he says. He glances in the direction of the sobbing."And away from that crying. Let's hope the walls are thick enough so that we don't hear that."
Randall mutters an agreement and starts making his way towards the inn with the others. Once inside, he will head to the bar and see if he can book some rooms for them.
