Eerie moves forward to join the others but keeps her eyes on the bears watching for any indication that they might not take advantage of their freedom and recent meal to depart the area. She leaves any discussion or negotiations to the others and stays casual but ready with the wand in case its needed again for the bears.
Virjor gently taps Thirteen on the shoulder and whispers "I put the goblin inside the carriage asleep my good man, so there may not be a response....though I'm sure if it could hear you it would be suitably intimated."
He then turns to the entangled goblin looking as menacing as he can and says "I suggest you answer the Monk, or we'll take your other ear!"
Virjor will ready an action if the Polar Bears attack: Casting Enlarge/Reduce to shrink the beast. He also readies his Rations to throw if he needs to placate the Bears, hoping Eerie's affinity with Animal Handling will help.
As Thirteen barks his order at the wagon, he hears the soft sound of snoring coming from within. He notices that there appear to be two patterns of noisy sleep-breathing.
Virjor stands nearby, one hand ready to shrink a feasting polar bear and the other fishing into a pouch for something that might entice a 1,300 pound carnivore.
Carric asks his question of the captive goblin, all the more intimidating for his calmness. She keeps her face down as she answers sullenly: "We are - were - a scouting party, looking for food and supplies. We saw the sled and it had nobody with it, so we took it"
Max closes in to get a better look but hangs back just in case he needs to use his crossbow. It is still at the ready should the goblin or bears get any ideas.
Eerie leans closer to Carric whispering, "How are they controlling those bears?" then to Thirteen "Do you think you could secure the two inside before they wake?"
Thirteen finds two slumbering goblin males inside, dressed in leather armour and with bows lying by their open hands. Huddled together where they fell under Virjor's spell, they seem almost cute. The large barbarian ties the pair up easily, and they don't wake. The wagon is cluttered with adventuring gear; grappling hooks and the like, with a couple of sacks of basic supplies.
Outside the wagon, the restrained goblin's eyes pop open as Max arrives panting at the congregation and exclaims "Bloody hell, how many of you are there?!"

Eerie, with the potential help of Carric, does her best to take on an uninterested air in regard to the Bears hoping that their distance from them and lack of aggression will encourage them to go elsewhere. She remembers from prior encounters with other bears to not turn her back on them, but gradually moves away from their space to the main group watching passively.
If they react with obvious aggression towards her, she will alert the others and use her [Tooltip Not Found] . Otherwise she will use all she knows of animal handling and try to calm them.
@Carric: The goblin appears to be truthful and no small amount frightened. You notice a slight crack in her voice as she mentions home, indicating a strong emotional attachment.
Eerie tries to use her experience of brown bears to influence the polars' behaviour, but something seems off. Either the species has different drives, or this pair is conditioned differently; either way, they look up and stare hungrily at the gnome (and her companions beyond) as long tongues lap at bloody muzzles.
Carric slowly swivels his head to regard the rest of the party. "The goblin woman speaks the truth,"he declares. "She is frightened and disturbed by our presence."The words echo eerily from behind his tear-marked mast.
"Yes! Yes! I'm telling the truth!" the goblin says, straining at the vines which hold her.
Seeing the concern about the polar bears, and clearly scared of them herself, she says "I can help with the bears, just let me free and I'll distract them, you can have the stupid ingots!"
Eerie nods, "We could probably use some help." She studies the woman's attire to determine how much of a risk it may be letting her loose and watching for the others agreement will release the vines that hold her. "What of her companions?"
insight18 to watch for any signs that she has other intentions.
Carric considers what he has heard and the situation overall. "There is nothing to be gained from delivering further misery here," he says. "We take the dwarves' rightful possessions back to them and leave this one and those who slumber to do what they will..."
He exhales loudly, the sound echoing against the mask, and adds coldly: "I am certain they will not want to deal with us any further."

Max gets nearer to Carric, and upon hearing his words, he attempts to turn his usually cheerful expression into a sour one and nods. His hand is still on his crossbow as he checks out the surroundings.
"I agree," says Thirteen as he makes his way across to Eerie. "Let the goblin free so she can help with these beasts as a fight could be a difficult one."
He draws his sword just in case, and is ready for an encounter should the goblin be untruthful. And with a slight grin on his face mumbles quietly to Eerie, "although a fight could be fun, huh?"
She smiles up at Thirteen then looks back to the female. "Yes, do what you can with the bears please." Then watches to see how the little goblin plans to accomplish this feat.

Thirteen nods to Virjor, "that was a good plan wizard." Then to Eerie, "Yes, I have some rope to tie them"
He vaults up into the wagon and takes his time to carefully secure the other two goblins.

The bears have nearly finished their meal...
Carric pauses for a moment after the goblin speaks, staring at her from behind his mask, gauging the truth of her words.

Eerie gets the feeling that the goblin is being honest - she doesn't want to be eaten and is terrified of the unleashed bears.
