Sulfyrex is preparing her domain for students, setting up traps, cultivating dangerous mushrooms near harmless ones, casting illusions
Eylsa has decided to go on a nature walk to sketch.
they see a cluster of mushrooms near a cypress tree. the way the sun hits it, the composition, the texture variety, its very picturesque
They eye it, realizing how pretty it is, they decide to take out watercolor for after the sketch, to truly express it's beauty. They take some time grabbing the watercolors from their cloak.
*Oh god they are so dead*
as they sit down to start sketching, a small mushroom, crawling around on mycelial legs, like a starfish, comes out of the underbrush
Their eyes widen, and they jump back a bit, drawing a hard line that'll take a few minutes to erase. They gasp in shock before trying to determine if the thing is deadly or not.
the mushroom's mantle glows slightly as images flicker into existence above it. a single, acid-green, slit pupiled eye. an open mouth of needle-like teeth. fear. panic. danger.
Eylsa jumps back, trying to force a message into its mind "I can see that. What has happened to you? I am safe..." *It can talk back if it can understand any language*
"Not safe. monster. coming. sharp. burn."
"Does it have horns? Large ones that point forward. And wings as well?"
*Gods why am I awake it 12?*
"yes. queen of swamp. chasing. you. not safe. follow." the little mushroom creature begins moving away from where it came
They follow the mushroom.
*Can I roll insight to see if the mushroom follows the dragon*
*absolutely. its mind dosent work like a human's does tho, so it'll be difficult*
it's mycelial legs carry it quickly through the underbrush. you hear the flap of wings behind you
