Sometimes with the blessing of civil authority and often in spite of it The Guild of Vengeance searches the city of Brixtonia and the breadth of the countryside for those who have done evil and when they find them, there is neither trial nor procedure, only the cold execution of vengeance. Funded by a mysterious benefactor the guild continues it's search for those with the fortitude and will to do what must be done, without the expectation of reward. The spoils of their victories go back to the victims and the further operations of the guild. Nobody gets rich in this guild, but everybody gets bloody.
Describe your character and why they want to be a part of The Guild of Vengeance!
CAMPAIGN SETTING: THE NEW EARTH
This homebrewed world is an alternative timeline of the planet Earth based on the speculative future supercontinent of Pangea Ultima or Pangea Proxima.
It begins in the Kingdom of Brixtonia a martial city state. There is some technology, including crude guns and balloon travel. Construction has even begun on the first train, but technology here must ultimately be propped up in some fashion by the highest magic. For all of its magic and technology however this world is fueled by mining. Iron, copper, gold, silver and gems are what what really makes the world turn. Being an alternative time and reality of the planet Earth, the deities of this world are the deities of Earth. The Babylonian, Celtic, Egyptian, Greek, Norse, Roman and Sumerian deities all exercise some element of influence over this reality in struggle against, and sometimes in cooperation with, the devils and demons who seek to claim it for themselves. Their conflicts are ever present and dramatic.
Humans, Dwarves, Gnomes, Orcs and Elves rule the kingdoms that control the world. Humans mine iron and copper. Dwarves mine gold and silver. Gnomes mine gems, Orcs mine coal, and the Elves use secret means to mine the exotic elements of platinum, electrum, mithril, adamantine and lodestone. The Goblins have mined stone and low grade metal ores for years but rumors abound that they have discovered a new mysterious element that could make them as powerful as the others. Halflings are everywhere and live peacefully among all the other races because they don't seek power and possess agricultural skills. Halfling commodities feed the rest of the world and also keep them drunk as the Halflings produce 90% of all the ale, wine and spirits. Kobolds are found everywhere as their mining and tunneling skills have made them an invaluable part of the labor force in this mining based economy. These are the main races of the world but this world is immense and nearly anything might be found living here somewhere!
MYTHOLOGY
Around the 1st century the one god came to drive out the many. Sometime around the 25th century the followers of the one god turned against each other in a war that would erase the world. The leaders of the old gods, long exiled to the outer planes, gathered together to save the life forms of the earth. Zeus, Odin and Ra took their favorites from among mankind and placed them in another future, on an alternate earth. This awakened the other gods who also took their favorites from the earth and from other planes and planets, bringing them to this new and bountiful world. 500,000,000 years later and on an alternate timeline mankind has survived his own apocalypse, thanks to the gods they once rejected. These are the main deities of the new earth and their main worshippers. Anyone can worship any god and this list is neither finale nor absolute. These are just the most worshipped and therefore the most powerful gods of this new earth. Anubis: Various Aurora: Aarakocra Bast: Tabaxi Brigid: Various Baldr: Humans, Half Elves Diana: Rangers Dionysus: Halflings, Alcoholics. Laucian Naïlo, a Wood Elf Monk and follower of Pan, comes forward, seeking to be the newest recruit of The Guild of Vengeance. After long years spent in seclusion, he has decided he can no longer hide himself from the world. There are people who have been wronged, hurt, or broken, and too few willing to do the necessary messy work of righting those wrongs. Laucian is one of those few. In fact, Laucian relishes the thought of getting messy, or, at least, the thought of making others messy. There's definitely a darkness that lurks in Laucian's eyes, but he has chosen to fix that dark gaze on those who would exploit the weak.
Freedom, a light brown-skinned tiefling warlock and follower of no god, sees The Guild of Vengeance as a means to an end in Brixtonia. Despite the stares and unwelcoming atmosphere of the city (for him, anyway), he finds its comforts and conveniences worth the trouble. He's used to being abused in a variety of ways, so what's a little more? He greets their disdain with quiet grace, knowing he'll get his one day. And what better way to pass the time than to cause a little pain in the name of vengeance?
Balmaris Amakiir, more often than not, sits quietly in the darkened corners of whatever room he occupies, observing silently. The shadar-kai monk has come to Brixtonia to join The Guild of Vengeance by the will of Nyx. She has tasked him with searching for, and dispatching disciples of Zeus in an attempt to disrupt his power base. He has determined to prove his value to his goddess by ridding the world of those deemed 'evil' but sometimes he questions her choices which has costly repercussions.
Urchin grew up in the slums in the poorest ends of town. She saw and experience the worst atrocities of civilization. When she discovered her powers as a young adult she vowed to rid the streets of the scum that plagued it.
Urchin is a rust red female tiefling (if you allow it) with electric blue highlights on her horns finger tips and tail tip. She has black hair and brown eyes. She is a draconic sorcerer with fain scale patterns on her shoulders and hips. She joined the guild to help rid the streets of the human refuse that make life miserable for everyone and to maybe fight the powers are the top that keep the status quo . If she followed a deity it might be Nyx. However she see the unfairness and brutality of the ghettos and slums as, in part, the gods doing by choice or by ignorance.
As many of the Kenku grow up to be thieves and scoundrels, so has Joza. He is of a cursed and dejected people, and as such, he learned to take from those who had more to spare. One day, he and a group of his friends set out to take from a high noble, but they were caught! They were then sentenced to wear an iron band around an ankle. This band binds Joza to the law! He may not willingly break the law without suffering for it. Sworn and beholden as a paladin, Joza is left to strike out against the evil lawless.

Dean Kin grew up in the mines, struggling with his limited physical abilities the gnome tried to escape the oppression, he was caught and imprisoned. While in prison, he came across a large scroll that looked like it had been thrown through the window. Rolling it out on the floor, he found it had spells inscribed which he learned to cast. Over the days, weeks, months, who knows? Using this new-found knowledge, he plotted his escape and swore he would exact revenge on those who kept him, and help the others he knew in oppression.

Herberos, more often than not, sits quietly in the darkened corners of whatever room he occupies, observing silently, like a large obelisk. At near 8 feet tall he finds normal human quarters a bit confining for his bulk. The bugbear monk has come to Brixtonia to join The Guild of Vengeance by the will of Nyx. She has tasked him with searching for, and dispatching disciples of Zeus in an attempt to disrupt his power base. He has determined to prove his value to his goddess by ridding the world of those deemed 'evil' but sometimes he questions her choices which has costly repercussions.

Meepo has always been on the outskirts of the mainstream civilization. He finds it difficult to be accepted entirely by most humanoids. That’s fine. He’ll take care of his own! He takes any work that will make him coin, but especially if it means taking a Noble or Lord down a peg.
Arutha was raised in a war torn city and at a young age his family was killed in the conflict. Never knowing his surname he grew up on the streets and was quickly conscripted into the local Lords army. Having been poorly trained, in his first battle they were soundly beaten and he ran away to escape execution by the conquering force. Shortly after he was found by a Mercenary troupe, The Wolf Pack, that was involved in the combat and due to the fact that their number had been severely reduced by the conflict they took him in and began to train him for real. He quickly showed a great affinity for the blade and so they continued to hone his skills until he became well known for his skills with swords. Soon people began showing up to challenge him to duels and the mercenary group started to grow a reputation that caused them to not be called on for different wars and for purely financial reasons he was asked to leave. Now he is a lone Mercenary traveling around fighting for whoever will pay for his services while trying to dodge all the challengers that are still trying to single him out for a duel.

Percival Blunt is a Human Warlock who grew up in a noble family. Being the sixth child of a wealthy lord, Percy was an afterthought for his father, who chose to focus on his older brothers that would constantly attempt to outmaneuver each other for his favor, especially as Percy's father grew older. Desperate to gain some approval from his father, or at least some acknowledgement, Percival tried to master some form of skill in the hopes that his father might notice. Percival found that he would fail at mastering the orthodox skills, like music, combat, and hunting, and began to give up on the idea of ever winning his father's approval. Until one night when Percival went to sleep after praying to Hecate that he could find some way of winning his father's approval and heard a voice that told him that all of his wishes could be granted if he were to form a pact with this unknown being. And so he did.
The next morning, Percival not only woke up with a sword next to him, but also the knowledge and ability to use it, but also a degree of skill in the arcane arts that he had never possessed previously. When he heard of a guild that pursued evildoers down and exacted vengeance upon them, he saw an opportunity to put his newfound skills to use and prove once and for all that he was worthy of his father's favor.

Hi, looking to join a new campaign. Was wondering what level we are starting out, but I have a dwarf barbarian named Gildar Chainbreaker that I would love to play.
Gildar used to be a drafted soldier, but deserted because of the awful things the army leaders made them do. He wants to find the evil doers, especially the ones in power, and exact the revenge for those who can't do it themselves. He doesn't enjoy what he does, but he knows it is necessary. He wants to join the Guild of Vengeance so that he can meet other like minded people, and take down larger prey than what he can on his own. After all, killing the corrupt is a tough business.
One other thing. Was wondering how you wanted to do abilities. Point buy, or roll for it?
