(Welcome. I hope you enjoy this adventure. So let's get started. You have not yet met each other, but will soon. I recommend after you read the following, refer back to the book, specifically the topics mentioned. Also, tell me how you are going to get from where you are to where you need to be.)
It is a cold and dreary (April) morning as you wake. You are surprised by a sudden knock and a gruff female voice that greets you. “’Scuse me. Would you be …” She pauses as she tries to make out the words and tries not to mess up any regional pronunciation, before reading your name aloud.
You see a female dwarf in front of you. She has a missing left arm. She is wearing a tight grey one piece outfit complete with pants, hood, Scale mail armor and a cape. She holds a halberd easily in her hands. She has dyed her greying auburn hair a little too much giving a sharp auburn color. Her violet eyes lackadaisically let the world flow into them.
She continues “My name is Oriff Graybeard and there is a matter most urgent.” She presents you with a letter. “I’m sorry dear, I was told to deliver this, but I know nothing for the contents. Good luck and Godspeed.” She then takes her leave.
As you hold the letter in your hands you get the slightest whiff of perfume, mind you nothing strong, but still there. As you turn the envelope over you see a royal seal.
The letter reads as thus:
Dear Adventure,
I am writing to you this day of a matter most urgent. My very life, nay, the Kingdom may be at risk without your aid. Please meet me and other handpicked adventures for a mission to solve a mystery plaguing our land. Please meet me at the Diamondback Trout in Onadbyr on the first day of Mirtul (May) at 10pm.
Sincerely,
Lyrencia
P.S. Please keep this letter and your mission secret, for now.
Tybitha brushes a stray hair that fell out of her bun and into her eyes as she reads the letter as the one-armed dwarf departs. Intrigued by the letter and the messenger she closes the door behind her. She returns to her boarding room at the college and looks out her window. “I have about a month to get my affairs straight, I suppose.”
Tybitha takes the time to pack and set her affairs straight. Even finding a temporary librarian to fill in for her while she is gone. When the time in Mirtal has come, she embarks from the college of Minstrels and walks the streets of Onadbyr to the DiamondbackTrout where she enters the tavern. She notes that it is still a little early as the sun has not completely set. Better early than late! she thinks to herself. She takes a seat at a table and orders a sweet, white wine and some appetizers and mulls over the mysterious letter, tucked in her bag. Tybitha looks around at the other patrons wondering who here might be the other adventurers, if they are even here yet.
Tendilius reads the letter and thinks to himself, Onadbyr? I suppose it will be nice to see mom and dad again. Though I do wonder what this mystery is. He begins making preparations for the journey by selling off some of his possessions to have lighter packing for the trip and setting his home in order.
As the time draws closer to leave he packs his riding horse, Snowbell, and begins the journey to Onbadbyr, spending the nights in his tent on the road from Gonshar to Onadbyr.
Upon finally reaching the city he heads towards the Diamonback Trout and takes a seat in the corner after getting a glass of wine. He waits patiently, hoping to see any evidence of Lyrencia, royal messenger, or perhaps others that may have been invited on this quest.
As the time approaches (10pm) you see a cloaked figure enter with a tall Warforged with her. You see her motion to a person outside to stay there. A human male smiles from behind the bar greets her. (With your perception you would guess that is the owner of the Inn). He ushers her and her companion quietly into a corner room and closes the curtain behind him as he rejoins the people working the bar.
Tristan sits at a bar as the dwarf find him, his cloak hood up hiding most his features from onlookers "Oh, thank you." he says as he takes the letter from her and reaches into his pocket to pull out a silver piece "Here for your troubles." he says as he beings to open the letter and read it. He just refolds it and places it into his pocket as he stands up, his six foot muscular frame now towering over the dwarf as he finishes his ale.
He just grabs his emblem on his armor "Redeemer thank you for this opportunity." with that he begins to walk out and jumps onto his horse "Come on Conlan, we are going to Onadbyr."
Tybitha watches the strange interaction with the barkeep and the mysterious woman. She approaches the bar and hesitantly asks the barkeep, “May I ask who that was you escorted into that other room?”
Well I bet that's Lyrenica, thinks Tendilius to himself. He approaches the bartender and says, "I believe I may have a meeting with the lady in the corner room." He keeps the letter in hand, though doesn't show it yet due to the discreet nature of its contents. "Has, perchance, anyone else inquired about an upcoming meeting?"
As you both (Tybitha and Tendilius) approach the bar and ask the man who met with the cloaked lady (Desc: He is an attractive man, lean and moderately muscular. He wears suspenders and tan workpants. His shirt is brown, and he wears a heavy tan leather apron most of the time. His auburn hair is cut short. He has several tiny ruby earrings on each ear.)
"How can I help you?" he asks. "Oh, that person", he says in reply. He looks at both of you with a keen eye and smiles a broad smile. "Looks like she chose well. Please follow me."
He leads you back to the curtain and pulls it aside and invites/jesters you to enter. After you enter he pulls it closed.
She stands and pulls her hood back from her face and greets you. "Thank you for coming. I am the one who sent you the letter. I am Lyrencia."

”Tendilus?! What are you doing here? I haven’t seen you in ages! It’s so good to see you!” Tybitha hugs her step-brother. As they are led in to meet Lyrencia, “You received a letter also? I wonder what this is all about.”
Tristan ties the horse to the post as he gets to the mentioned bar, cussing under his breath at how late he is, even if by a few minutes. After ensuring it is securely tied up, he walks into the bar and pulls down his hood. He walks up to the bar and just looks at the person behind it “Excuse me. Could I get a drink.” He says looking around trying to figure out how the person who sent him the letter would let him know. His obsidian eyes just surveyed the people in the bar in hopes of seeing some sign.
Tristan, as you enter (and with your perception, you see two people being escorted into a side room. You also catch a glimpse of a young cloaked woman sitting there as the man closes the curtain behind him and approaches you and answers your request. "What would you like to drink this fine evening?"
Tristan puts some coin on the counter "I'll just take an ale." once it is delivered he will nod thanking the barkeep and then proceed to walk up to the individual in front of the curtain "I think I'm suppose to be in there as well. Sorry I'm late."
As he closes the curtain she continues. She nods at Tristan and offers him a seat. Standing she says "My name is Lyrencia, and you are right, I do bear a resemblance to the queen, as I am she. I must ask that you keep our meeting and this mission a secret. Not for any kind of scandalous reasons, mind you." She laughs to her self. "That would've been a mite' better than...." She catches herself using more causal, commoner, speech and regains her more dignified composure as she sits back down to continue. (before becoming the queen she was a hand maid.)
"I have asked you here to request your aid on a special mission for me. I need you to investigate the blight that is destroying the farm land in our kingdom. We have had the greatest minds in agriculture look into it but it does not appear to be natural. The outbreak started at the Old Windmills farm and has been spreading rapidly. It is critical that the cause, and hopefully a cure for the blight can be found before it interferes with feeding the people of the kingdom and takes another life ..." Her words trail off as you see her hold her right ankle. You notice a strange rash in unnatural colors beneath her cloak and dress. Seeing you looking she pulls her cloak over it and adds. "You know the saying 'So goes the land so goes the queen'? It would appear that it is quite literal. This disease (pointing to her leg) appears to be some kind of necrotic damage that will not heal; and is exactly like the blight on the land."
As the girl identifies herself Tristan just places his mug down and gets down on a knee crossing his arm over his chest "Your highness, I'm honored, but I shouldn't even be here then. If people found out you were associating with member of a disgraced house."
