I'd like to start a more laid-back homebrew 5e campaign.
Welcome to Wasteland's Edge. It's a rough-and-tumble town that has sprung up next to Castle Harmonia, one of the fortresses that line the Wall of Order, the bulwark that protects the civilized lands from the Chaos Blight created at the end of the last war with the armies of Chaos. Player's can be here for whatever reason they wish, and the campaign is not restricted geographically.
I'm looking for 3-6 interested players for a 3-4 posts per week game.
Character Creation: Official WotC sources, no UA. Message me for exceptions. Stats: Use Array of 16, 15, 14, 13, 11, 9. or Roll 2 sets of 7 4d6 drop lowest, pick a set and use the highest 6 scores. Hit Points: Fixed Races: The main population of the "civilized" lands are Human, Half-Elf, Half-Orc, Dwarf, Halfling. Other races will have some prejudice against them, depending on how exotic they are. Alignments: Non-Evil. Starting Level: 2 Staring Equipment: As per Class and Background, or roll starting cash. In addition, you get 150gp. If you chose Class/Background equipment, you can upgrade leather to studded for 20 gold, or chain to splint for 65 gold.
I'll leave this open for a few days then pick a party as I see fit.

Liarin: Against the Cult of the Reptile God Adewild: Shadows and Light 2 Brother Thaddeus: Rime of the Frostmaiden.
Backstory. Silas was raised in the temple after being orphaned as a child. He was trained as a warrior and eventually selected as one of the "sacrificed warriors", skilled warriors who have an evil spirit bound to their soul to gain the power they need to fight the evils that plague the church. It was an honor to be selected, even if it does mean his soul is at risk of being corrupted by the spirit. He serves his church now as a roving warrior, opposing the agents of chaos wherever he finds them.
Daerrum is a younger son of the clan. His family has been spread a bit thin, but for now it’s necessary. Daerrun is in Harmony, holding to old allegiances to help defend the fortress and the Wall of Order against the Chaos. These allegiances are vague, but for dwarves that really only leaves room for greater chance of dishonor. Daerrum is no coward and will do his part. He lives to help bring greater honor to his clan.
Name: Galamash Firebinder Race: Half-Orc Class: Druid (Circle of the Moon) Background: Sailor
Galamash's human father worked as a scholar and set out on a project to learn more about orc culture through immersion. He met Galamash's mother there and he was the result of their encounter. He had several orc half-siblings, but was never accepted by the orcs of the village. When his father inevitably returned to the city, he agreed to take a young Galamash with him. Galamash always felt uncomfortable in the city. Human constructs such as politics and property seemed foreign to him. He longed for the freedom the animals outside the city seemed to enjoy.
He finally got his chance to leave the city by joining up as a deck-hand on a ship. He worked his way up through the ranks of the ship, finding the social structure here to be much more intuitive and natural. The strong rose and the weak fell. Those you were good to were good to you. It was so simple. When the ship was attacked, ravaged, and sunk by pirates, he was devastated.
Ultimately, he is seeking revenge on the pirates that sunk his ship and killed most of his crew. His most recent lead has brought him to Wasteland's Edge.
Nick is a misfit, a weak, small barbarian, but that doesn't matter to him. He has always enjoyed the thrill of fighting, for that reason he would go to rowdy bars to perform, hoping to get in the action of fighting. He came to wasteland's edge because of his wild heart; where he gave up entertaining to get in on the fighting: Real Fighting, not some barroom brawls.
backstory: as a child he was taken from his tribe perform in the circus and then through that learned how to pick locks to escape, use swords to kill those guarding him, and he left. He civilized himself and learned the art of assassination. Then he killed his trainer and apparently fell of the world a few weeks afterwards.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Hi @Charwoman_Gene! This looks really interesting. Feel free to check out my recent posts to see if our play-styles would gel! I hope so. Here’s my character idea:-
Ability scores: 1116161551011
Ability scores: 13111614131014
Name: Oak Oxenfield
Race: Minotaur((l can change this for a half-orc or something more ordinary if necessary, but I’m sure I can role play this out if you’re okay with it))
Class: Barbarian
Background: Soldier
Alignment: neutral good
Backstory: Oak was stolen from his family and his homeland when he was young. He’s only got a few scant memories of his family: being held by his mother; playing with his brothers and sisters. Or maybe that’s just what he hopes he remembers. He was raised into slavery, and used for his brute strength. Sold to the highest bidder and treated no better than an animal. Until one day he’d grown too big and too strong for his owner and he escaped. He can’t remember much about the escape. He worries that he killed everyone that night, but he honestly can’t remember. Unable to fit into normal society he enlisted into the military and trained as a soldier. Now he travels from town to town, picking up work where he can: a mercenary, a bouncer, a bodyguard. On the face of it, just a monster. But under the skin, perhaps just misunderstood. A gentle giant.
((I’m happy to tweak anything here to fit the world. And love developing deeper backstory as the game unfolds and in reaction to other party members)).
Backstory: Sent off to the church to at a young age the aggressive youth pulled aside and taught to redirect his rage towards evil. After reaching adulthood he has left to find himself and help those in need of help along the way.
