I use the 5th edition character sheet app for Android. It is very comprehensive. I would recommand that until D&D Beyond is there. And maybe Wizards can take it and improve upon it,

This really confused me. Not that I could sign up with twitch, but that I could ONLY sign up with twitch. Maybe they are really going to be pushing for people to stream their games?
Nice to hear that a mobile app is in the works. I too use Fight Club 5E for my D&D prep (and am using it right now to prepare tonight's game), but I have hopes that D&D Beyond can exceed it, especially with official materials.
I will concur with several individuals here that Windows 10 support would be very nice.

Yeah, i caused me to hesitate on signing up.
Why WotC?
Why? Well Curse is owned by Twitch, Twitch streams games. Makes sense to me, though I'm about what Beyond can do for me for gaming at the table, not streaming my game on Twitch.
I have to admit that I am a bit disappointed. From the looks of things, it seemed as if we'd have an app from the beginning but we are stuck with a web interface for mobile devices. I'm fine with it for home use as I run most of my games online but mobile browsers can make it feel clunky to look stuff up. Just my opinion.
I also use Fight Club and it is great, specially their DM version, to have my campaign divided in adventures (or chapters as I call them) and them, by their turn divided in encounters is definitely something WoTC could look into and implement on a native app.
I would love an app, especially since I don't want to lug around my laptop for every game. Being able to access via my iPad or even my Mobile Phone.
I use the Fight Club 5E app currently, and it's fantastic. But something native directly from Wizards that doesn't require manually importing game data would obviously be ideal.

i am excited as well i hope the char sheets in the app will be automated so you just select a few things and it auto fills the abilities and racial info ya know for less typing lol and i hope it has a leveling tool as well for easy level increase
I am also very happy to hear that this will be available as an offline/mobile resource, as that's highly attractive for this product. I was crushed when I initially saw that it wasn't right away, or seemed like it was going to be an online resource only.

This.
Curse is really just a part of Twitch now, and Twitch is owned by Amazon. For example, the Curse desktop client - which I use for WoW Addon management - is now the Twitch client. I'm not 100% sold on it yet, but it makes sense as long as the Twitch client is fast and stays unobtrusive (and lets me skip out of most social features).
As for D&D Beyond, it makes sense - I'd rather have Amazon manage user authentication and payment systems, and WotC focus on content organization, etc. This way, there's less risk of servers getting broken into and personal information getting stolen, or WotC auth servers being down.
Now I just have to dream of a day where I can buy the D&D books once on digital, and have them on Kindle and the content in D&D Beyond.
I'd like to take this a bit further and add my voice to the chorus for PC/Mac apps as well. I love the idea of mobile apps (fight club 5e being my current go-to), but I keep a ton of notes, maps, and campaign stuff on my laptop, and bounce between my MacBook and my iPad pretty regularly. I've never been super-keen on the idea of web-apps, since I prefer to have offline access, and web browsers (especially chrome, and chrome based browsers) are notoriously unkind on battery life.

Awesome news. Look forward to seeing it.

I cannot wait for the app release! It'll be good to have a nice one on iOS, if only for the spellbook!
well done... a mobile app will be so much helpful for us.
Have to agree with everyone else. I cannot wait for the mobile apps, or a Win10 version for those of us with Windows tablets and 2-in-1 devices.

Good... Bad... I'm the DM.
