"No one goes to the mountain. At least no one sane. Every so often you'll hear a rumor about some kind of mine with easy riches and some fool or another will try their luck...usually it's one of your people," he says pointedly to Zeke.
Zeke puffs up and attempts to Intimidate the half-orc.
"By my people, I can only assume you mean dwarfs. And I strongly encourage you to be respectful of my people, if you know what is best for you."
Zeke casts a Thaumaturgy cantrip to cause the flames of the fire in the fireplace and torches to flicker green and blue to underline his annoyance with the half-orc.
Jack after falling from his chair to the ground realized he had fallen asleep and ask wait a second here what did I miss in this important meeting?
"Jack, are you okay," the Wizard asks with genuine concern.
"You've hardly said a word since we set sail from Mountainwall, much less since we arrived at Wyndshire, and now you're falling asleep right here at the table! I do hope that you'll get the rest you need before we travel through the forest to the foot of the Northwall Mountains and you enter the tomb of the necromancer Iskander to recover his spellbook before Bargle gets his villainous hands on it."
"Now, as for the current topic of conversation, as the barkeep mentioned this is my third attempt to recover the book. During the first attempt, it was discovered that an enchantment on the entrance of the tomb turns the magical potential of a spellcaster back on themselves..."
He says the words grimly and it seems that some of the color has drained from his face.
"...I lost two close friends. The second attempt I sent only warriors, none of which managed to return. I've spent a great deal of time studying the runes at the entrance of the tomb since then and I believe that...less powerful spellcasters may be able to pass through the barrier with only minimal risk while still being able to deal with whatever threats the warriors were unable to face alone."
Zeke says, “Sorry about your friends. And I certainly qualify as a less powerful spell keeper, at least for right now. . But my Warhammer is strong and ready for smiting our enemies. So as Krog said, we should keep you from needing a fourth group to check this book out of the library. How far away is this tomb, anyway?”
"thank you for the concern these past few week have been had on my body but believe when I say I am OK." Jack says before turning to zeke to say
"these adventures do seem dangerous...BUT has a BRAVE halfling I will accompany you on this journey. PLUS I won't let a TINY curse scare me easily especially since I fit the requirements quite well" after all he as developped a hatred towards people trying to take things from their rightful owners
"BUT STILL I'm gonna need someone to give me a recap ... it's not cause I'm sympathetic that I will let people ignore,NOW don't make Me resort to violence" he says after waking up extremely annoyed from his nap
“Jack, here’s the recap. We’re going to get a book from a tomb in a mountain. That book rightfully belongs to this wizard here - Grey is his name. We will have to fight and may not live.”
And most importantly, I bought you the ale you are drinking so and have no problem using my Warhammer to knock the mug into your mouth if you threaten me again,” says Zeke a little heatedly.
Zeke stays seated and does not ready his Warhammer since Zeke knows he also can be grumpy when waking up and he respects the halfling’s moxy.
Zeke pushes the GP back to Jack. “Keep your money. You may need it to live long enough to buy me something good to drink when we get back. This stuff here is swill.” He toasts Jack and says, “We will both get to practice our spells on actual bad guys once we get in the tomb.”

Zeke moved to the bar. “A round of ales for my friends here, please.” He looks around skeptically and asks, “How’s business been, lately?”
"Huh? Hello! River Snake must be in. Passengers or new crew?"
The Half-Orc's face falls as he spots Grey.
"Passengers, is it? Back to the mountain then?"
Zeke asks the half-orc, “What’s up on the mountain?” And turns to ask Grey, “How many times you been here, old man?”
"Nothin' but danger, but your friend there would know that better'n me."
Grey gives a grim look.
"This would the third time."
Surprised by the answer, Krog will nod approvingly to Zeke, and then look at Grey with a Hmmm sound, "What happened the previous two times?"
"We failed," Grey says simply, "We can discuss it more later, privately."
He shoots a dangerous look at the Half-Orc.
Zeke talks to the half-orc - “All right. We still want that ale. Others like us going to the mountain?”
He snorts and draws ale from one of the kegs.
"No one goes to the mountain. At least no one sane. Every so often you'll hear a rumor about some kind of mine with easy riches and some fool or another will try their luck...usually it's one of your people," he says pointedly to Zeke.

Zeke casts a Thaumaturgy cantrip to cause the flames of the fire in the fireplace and torches to flicker green and blue to underline his annoyance with the half-orc.
He jumps back with a start, open hands raised in front of him.
"I meant no offense. Just stating the facts."
Zeke feels Grey's hand rest gently on a shoulder.
"That's quite enough of that. You've made your point," he whispers.
Zeke sits down in an isolated corner table and starts drinking his ale. He looks at his companions to join him.
As Zeke takes a seat, you spot the Half-Elf ushering the children out of the tavern.
Grey stays at the bar, speaking with the Half-Orc in hushed tones.
"Well, the good news," Grey says as he approaches, "is that he's too frightened of you to kick us out."
"Now, where we? Oh, yes, you were asking about the other expeditions."

Krog will thank Zeke for the ale. Then looks to Grey, "I appreciate your candor. Let's hope you do not need a fourth trip."
