Thaux squats down as he pulls the bowstring even further, waiting for the perfect moment to strike, knowing that the beasts are hiding in the woods. (Basically still taking the ready action. Gonna wait til I see them pop out of the woods.)
Quartz knows the strength of a pack, but also it's weakness. "They will try to pull is apart, but if we stay together it is we who can draw them to us, and ensnare them in our grasp." He says to the group.
"This place does not follow the laws of nature, yet still, I feel the roots growing beneath our feet. If I bid them, they will answer my call and entangle some of the beasts, leaving us a chance to break the remaining circle of predators and put their backs to the cliff!"
(Ooc: used my action to summon that owl. Planning ro use Entangle next round, (if this is a turn-based encounter). Hoping they'll get close enough together that it gets three in the 20ft cube, but will.settle for 2, wont waste the spell on 1 target that could make the save, anyway.)
Korbiña withdraws to the fire, picking up one of the torches that the fire was made of and holds it towards where she sees the closest hyenas, staying ready to dodge once anything runs or jumps at her ...
(I'm getting confused with the layout of the area... is it possible to get a rough drawing of area and positions?)
and for damage 7 and what's the sneak attack damage?
[5, but hold off on any further moves, for now. I'll give Jylek a little under a 12-hour window to comment, then continue with Gregory on autopilot if he doesn't show up.]
[Five was too big, so I made each square a customized 2 square foot tile. My bigass thumb wouldn't let me get an exact measurement, but the whole scene that I have set up is approx. 54x80ft. Still too big for my taste, since I'd prefer a more claustrophobic encounter, but it works for an early round where we can get accustomed to the platform.]

[Still waiting for one more person.]
[Thaux, roll to hit. If your arrow hits, it'll count as a sneak attack. Only after that will we roll initiative.]
[But we'll still wait for Gregory.]

[Keep in mind, I'm still new to this. Darkened areas are fog, Directions (NSEW) are shown, you can move your character's.]
[Open this in a separate window. I have to approve you after you click the link. I think. Given our timetables, that could be hours.]

[every effort is highly appreciated! I just clicked the link, so waiting for approval 😁 ... however long it takes, no problem]

[Ooc: I really enjoy owlbear.rodeo. I tried DDBs maps in alpha, but they seem very limited.]
[If you ever run into a player called MAOShea, thank them. They turned me onto the site in our other campaign together.]
[By the way, everyone should be able to control where their player goes. Lord knows, I'll forget.]
[Do I see correctly that a field on that map is 2.5x2.5feet? Or is it the standard 5x5 and the characters are just a bit too large?]

[Just asking because of movement and spell ranges :D
...but I see now... distances can be measured with the ruler tool, so no problem ^^]
[I hear ya. That's part of why I want everyone so close. See, we're not in the mist yet and I have an idea on how to make the magic interact with it.]
Asher waits for the enemy to be visible
Just in case an initiative starts while I'm asleep...
