Zenos nodding to Sirius "I think sleeping on it and keeping watch overnight is a good plan as we still do not have our main target. If we grab one of them in the night it might alter their plans or allow them to call in reinforcements. But I do like the sound of snatching someone in the middle of the night on the way to the outhouse in order to interrogate them, as that sounds like fun."
Aubreen gazes at the others around the table, "let us not mistake our quarry. Sephrek is the focus of our task." Finishing the last of the Stew he continues. "Torrgs may be a less than palatable crew but they were presented as traveling companions and not indicted as a part of the accusation. I for one do not relish the idea of traumatizing the innocent. And certainly not showing our hand before the time is ripe. It is Sephrek we need to get alone and present the accusation, how, when and where do we orchestrate this?"
Sirius: ”It’s true that Sephek is the real focus, but I do really doubt the innocence of the rest of company too. Legitimate merchants wouldn’t not set up in a market square, there’s something fishy going on there.” Sirius quietly adds ”They were also awfully rude.”
”We should wait for morning and see if Sephek comes here to meet up with the company. As soon as the company gets up, we’ll set up right outside the Inn and confront Sephek if he comes by. Just before he has the chance to unite with the company and make the interaction that much harder. If he doesn’t come here and the company leaves, we should discreetly follow them until they meet Sephek and then try to get Sephek aside to be confronted.”
Perrin nods as Sirius speaks. If he had his way, they would confront this Sephek fellow and then interrogate him before they did anything to him. At the very least, they should try to find some solid evidence to support their employer's claim before they, um, "disposed" of him.
He cocks his head as a thought crosses his mind. If Sephek was out and about, and Torga and the rest of the crew were here, what was Sephek doing all by himself? Could he possibly be finding his next victim to murder in cold-blood?
Imitating Sirius, he says, "Sephek." Then he pantomimes stabbing someone with a knife. "Find," he finishes by cocking his head to indicate a question.
((OOC: What Perrin is trying to say is that maybe it wouldn't hurt to take a peek around later tonight to see if they could catch Sephek in the act of shmoking someone. If not that, it would at least be worthwhile to check that out in the morning. The way kenkus speak makes it a bit hard to convey meaning, but I thinks it's kinda fun))
Zenos looking around the table "I guess it is a better plan to try and find Sephek and speak to him without his companions if possible but it sure would have been fun to scoop someone up in the middle of the night. So I guess the question is do we go out tonight or in the morning. I for one would enjoy some shuteye as we have traveled a log way today."
Aubreen agrees with the general sentiment. "Let get some rest. Sirius first watch, I will take last. Torrgs are not leaving quickly, let's rise early and try to head off Sephek before he rejoins his crew." Aubreen heads to bed.
The sleeping quarters, located in the basement of the Eastside, are suprisingly warm in comparison to the common room. Furnishings include two fur-draped beds on sturdy frames, a stool, a chest that is also opened with the room key and some hooks for clothing. Light is being provided by small oil lamps, just enough to orient yourselves.
Anyone still going out or is everyone turning in for the day?
(OOC: Assuming 3 sets of 2 hour watches, the minimum necessary amount to get 6 hours of sleep)
Torrgas company stays in their rooms for the two hours that Siritus is keeping his eyes peeled. During that time, Marta clears away any remains on the tables. She then helps the old man stand and very slowly helps him down to the guest rooms. "Have a good nights sleep sir!" she directs at Sirius. Then she is also gone, leaving you alone in the room. At least the hearth is well stocked with wood to not let it go out in the night.
Sirius reciprocates Marta’s wish for a good night. After his two hours shift is done, Sirius walks down and quietly wakes up Zenos for the next watch. ”I suggest you take the blanket with you, it’s quite cold even near the hearth.” Sirius whispers to Zenos. Then Sirius heads to his room for sleep.
Zenos heads downstairs to wake Perrin for the next shift. "Its your turn, be sure to bring something to wrap up as the fire is dying down some and starting to get chilly."
Perrin groggily makes his way down the stairs after Zenos wakes him. Keeping watch soap under like a great idea a few hours ago, but he wasn’t so sure now. He settles down at one of the tables, and he somehow manages not to doze off during his shift
The night you spend at the Eastside is comfortable for Icewind Dale standarts. The beds become warm after being bundled up in them for a while and the town doesn't really wake up until late in the morning. Torrgas group keeps to their rooms during that time and there is no sign of Sephek.
By the morning breakfast has been prepared by Marta and consists of hunks of bread with a serving of smoked reindeer meat and goat cheese. To really warm up, hot fish soup is also available.
Torrgs is also up, scarfing down the food on offer. They keep to themselfes, sitting at the same table once more. Once finished, they are getting ready to head out, a ritual of checking cold weather clothing, scarfs, thick boots being tied.
Then, the door opens and Sephek steps in. A lazy smile across his uncovered face, he leaves the door open a bit too long, letting some of the warmth out. The eyes of ice survey the room, lingering upon your group just a moment, but quickly losing interest.
"Gracing us with punctiality for once" Torrga grunts and stomps towards the door. Sepheks smile remains and he doesn't reply. The group is heading out.
Aubreen scowls, waiting for torrgs to finally leave, clearing his throat he growls in a morning rasp "Well now, if their pattern holds true they will be heading to the market for a few hours, then trek up to lonelywood. Sephek will find a place to drink while the others find an inn. They know our face now so we need to be careful." Clearing his dishes to the bar, Aubreen returns. "We wait till the y leave, want to make sure they do, and in which direction, then follow a ways back. Catch Sephek alone when we find him?"
Listening to the groups suggestions Aubreen enters during a pause, "If we have the time while waiting, we should find out more details about this Kobold infestation, could be lucrative when we are done here."
Sirius: ”Sounds like a plan. Now let’s just keep a low profile. Sephek hasn’t even seen most of us.”
As Aubreen suggests finding out more about the kobold ridden mine, Sirius pipes up. ”Why don’t we start by asking Marta since we have some time to kill before they leave.” Sirius gets up to bring his dishes to Marta. ”What do you know about the kobold ridden mine? Is there someone who knows more about the situation?” Sirius asks from Marta speaking quietly enough for the company and Sephek not to hear.
Torrgs in its entirerty has left in the direction of the market, bringing three heavily-laden sleds out of the barn adjacent to the Eastside. The sleds are being pulled by six dogs each, whose excited barking can be heard as the procession moves to the market located at the western side of the town.
Marta thanks Sirius for bringing the dishes and listens to his question. "There is talk of kobolds in the mines yeah. The miners haven't been able to work there since. Mr. Masthew, that's the town speaker, has put out a bounty for anyone who clears them out. I think it's 60 gold! He's usually in the town hall or the Blue Clam if you want to ask him about it."
Zenos thinking now the hunt begins. "I am very good with disguises I may stand out in a crowd as I am but I have a few changes that I can make and I bet even my mother won't recognize me. It seems to come in handy when I need to work my side job. Want one of us to keep track of them while they are in town and the rest go find this town speaker? I would hate for them to run off in a direction we aren't watching."
Sirius thanks Marta for the information and for hosting the party. ”The accomodation was quite wonderful and the food tasty.”
Sirius replies to Zenos: ”I think we should all be close-by Sephek in case things go awry. We can get to the town speaker later. When we get to the market, you should be as close to them as you can in your disguise without raising suspicion. Maybe you could even hear something. Let’s hope the market is busy so we can all blend in better. Either way I think the rest of us should hang back to minimize the chance of unwanted confrontation. We should still be in the market area though, in case of any trouble.”

Sirius buckles in for first watch near the hearth in the tavern just making sure the company doesn’t leave.
He waits for one of the others to come relieve him so he can go to sleep.

Except for one of Torrgas men coming up and leaving for the outhouse, throwing Zenos a dark look upon his return, Zenos shift is peaceful.
Zenos heads downstairs to wake Perrin for the next shift. "Its your turn, be sure to bring something to wrap up as the fire is dying down some and starting to get chilly."
