It would be fair to say that Elias had a bit of a hero complex, he saw a situation that required action and that's how he responded. With a fluid motion of speed and brute force, that surprised even himself, Elias crossed the small room and upended the man. (Athletics check 21) He stripped the club away and tossed it at Desmond before the man had even hit the floor. He lowered himself to his haunches so that his face stood inches from the man. The man's eyes were alight with terror, Elias searched them for a sign of deceit or some hidden evil. How had these people survived in this town if they weren't monsters in hiding? His insight normally so keen to see people's real emotions failed him however, must be something to do with this place. ( insight 5) Elias spoke his words slowly letting their meaning sink in with precision.
"You and your family have no need to fear any harm from us old man. We no more worship this strahad demon than you. Our friend the bear over there is just reacting badly to the curse that rests upon your town. I assure you we have brought him under control." Elias stood pulling the man back to his feat. "You would do well in the future to show better manners when travelers arrive at your door. Now please we are strangers and have no knowledge of this place or Strahad so educate us."
Bowme is startled by the commotion caused by Elias and sits up with a shocked expression on his face. His surroundings don't look familiar so he asks his friends "where are we? Who are these people?" He jumps up onto his feet, reaches into his pocket and pulls out his flask. Sensing the tension he slinks behind his teammates hoping that the tension between Elias and the strange man distracts the team enough so he can sip on his drink in peace.
Desmond caught the club and looks to the man. " Sir I know your angry but I am sorry to disappoint you, we don't worship this demon named Strahd he seems like a jerk that eats babes" he sign " but we are here to kick vampire ass and drink mead." he checked his bag to make sure he did not have any mead even though he may have taken some. " But I am all out of mead."
The man looked to the floor closing his eyes in pain as Elias easily disarmed him. “It doesn’t matter, your just like the rest of them.” His face came up looking at the drow, “The Devil Strahd doesn’t eat babies! He takes everyone….everything!” Elias feels the tension in the man’s arm go limp, as if he doesn’t have the strength to hold up his arm. He looked to Elias, “Travelers! Manners! You barge into my home with a cursed one and a servant of his and tell me manners!” At this he hung his head low again, brushing his mustache against the ground trying to wipe away the tears. When he lifted his head the tears were gone but he looked beaten as if all the fight was out of him. “Travelers don’t come here anymore. No one comes here anymore. Unless you came with the Vistani and if you did then you do serve the devil!” Taking in all the adventurers he spat out, “We’ve seen hundreds of you come through….thousands saying you’ll save us. Yet all we get is pain and suffering!”
At the last part the door to the room opens a bit and to the surprise of all a woman stands there holding a baby with 2 female children. All of them have a staring at the adventurers with no such emotion on their face. “What are you all doing to my Gerard?” The woman asks. Upon seeing the wolf she holds her baby closer, “Get that servant of evil out of my house! If you don’t I’ll have you thrown out! I’ll call the guards….or…..the townsfolk!” she started to force the children behind her. (Give me a perception check)

Desmond looks at then and rolls his eyes " Fine good luck finding yourself adventures that may for you know care now" he turns to his group to go given them the nod that these people will beg for that them to come back. Desmond seen these types of weak fools when help does come they refuse them he greatly dislikes them, he would rather leave them to their doom. Desmond thought to himself. "Weak fools these townsfolk they are always scared of everything from rain to winter I am shocked these fools are not scared of their own shadows"
Elias stood slowly drinking in the details of the woman and the children. What his eyes found told him a horrific story. He had assumed through some miracle that these people had survived the blight upon this town, but these people had not survived. They stood before him as husks their eyes haunted missing any hint of life. They weren't zombies or minions, but all hope had fled their souls, they existed somewhere between the land of life and the plane of the dead. It was as if the curse had been feeding off these people for an eternity, they had no sense of time or place; they knew only the emptiness and the pain. His companions did not register as anything other then the possibility of more pain.
Upon hearing the woman behind Beautiful; he spun on the spot and attempted to stow away his halberd clumsily. Hearing they were not welcome in the area and to a sigh of great relief that Bowme is back to normal, Beautiful follows Desmond, Draycor and Nyx out of the dwelling. With one last retort. "town guards....heh, funny"
Bowme, still feeling the tension between the two groups of people, follows Draycor out of the house. As he walks out he makes a comment under his breath to him "It looks like a pigsty in there. They oughta clean up a bit before inviting guests in again". He sips on his flask till no more is left. He looks around and says "there's gotta be a bar around here. Could use a quick fill up"
Elias watched stunned as his companions walked one by one out of the room. These people, downtrodden and mistrustful as they were, knew about strahad. Well maybe them leaving will make the townsfolk more comfortable. He turned to the townsfolk putting on his most apologetic look, "Everyone we are as we appear very ignorant travelers who wish to learn more. Now you may believe we can not help, but what is the harm in telling your woes to an interested ear." With a flourish he produced two apples from his pocket and offered them to the girls standing next to the woman clutching at her skirt.( persuasion 18)
Not knowing what to do and not wanting to intervene on a situation she had no right to be in Marisa decided to duck out of the house as well. She would wait outside until this iddsue either fixed itself or just got progressively worse.
The apples that Elias gave to the children were snatched up. As the two ran in to a different room. As Elias came back up to his full height he met the woman's face. Still holding the baby to her, “Your ignorance is well noted, especially for thinking that we would help someone that has come in to hurt me and mine!” While she had no emotion on her face a type of calm wraith could be heard in her voice. “You’ll have no help from us while you have that beast with you. The little bit of knowledge I’ll tell is that wolves are servants of Strahd! Although if you wish to learn about the folk here you can always try Bildrath’s Mercantile or Blood of the Vine Tavern. Both are down the road. Bildrath’s will be on the right and Blood of the Vinewill be on the left.” She moved past Elias and made her way to her husband and children while still holding her baby. As Elias looked past them to the outside, he noticed that the tree was now bare that the raven that had occupied it was gone.
While outside the group group can still hear a woman weeping. Elias relies the information to the group and now they must decide where to go.

Things were starting to get strange. The raven that had been perched nearby had been watching them with intense red eyes. They reminded Draycor of Nyx's eyes before he had intervened.
"Well looks like we have two choices," Draycor said, "Which should we check first?"
Desmond goes with Draycor " I say we head to the Blood of Vine sounds like a charming place" he said sarcastically. " I mean so far my thoughts on this place is that this place is very crappy even the people here are not nice, hell they use chicken scratch for letters."
As the group moves they see that many of the buildings are abandoned aside from the shifting shadows they saw, watching their every move. With in minutes the companions are at the crossroad. To the right they see a building with a sign that reads, Bildrath's Mercantile. Following the woman's instructions the companions turn left and see a single shaft of light thrusts illumination into the main square, it's brightness looking like a solid pillar in the heavy fog. Above the gaping doorway, a sign hangs precariously askew, proclaiming this to be the Blood on the Vine Tavern. Upon entering you can tell that this was once a fine establishment. Now a shoddy place with care being a afterthought. A blazing hearth gives scant warmth to a few of the patrons. With in you see the barkeep at the bar cleaning glasses, 3 colorfully dressed women sitting at a table laughing and talking among themselves and young man who sits by himself at a corner table.
Desmond thinks to himself ' Great this shit hole is about as bad as this town, I feel like they sent me here on purpose to make me leave the house.' he investigates who are the 3 colorfully women are and if they a threat if not then Desmond may chat with them but he keeps his distance for a bit reasoning being he knows that female dark elves would do that before they get their prey, or they just gossip behind your back and laugh at the most silliest thing you done, then before you know it everyone in Menzoberranzan knows what your have done. Desmond thought to himself. ' Could they be part of that same guild. it feels like females no matter what race knows each other.' but Desmond went to go to talk with them anyways knowing they are not a threat. " hey ladies" he said with his best smile.
Draycor tells Nyx to stay outside and keep watch. He doesnt need anymore dirty looks.
"Well this place is a mess," he says under his breath.
It looked like Desmond had the ladies covered. Flirting at a time like this? Draycor has a new respect for Desmond. Even with their misfortune he still finds time to lay on the charm. Good luck buddy.
Looking around, he decides to have a chat with the man sitting in the corner.
Elias smelled the filth that clung to the walls of this place, it made his skin itch. His desire to leave rose to the tips of his short cut hair. That family had decided not to give them any information so here he stood seeking answers. He had never really been one to chat up women who so obviously were flaunting themselves, if they weren't prostitutes they sure were wearing the company uniform. Elias decided his best bet was with the barkeep, so he took a seat and waived the ill kept from down.

Draycor noticed how uncomfortable Nyx was making the townsfolf feel.
"Come on Nyx. Lets go keep watch out front"
Draycor apologized for the group's brash entry and retreated out of the house with the wolf at his side.

Bo looks listens to everyone and agrees with Desmond, "Lets go to the tavern. I could use a good ale."
Looking slightly annoyed and perplexed Beautiful asks; what is the purpose to go to the tavern? Why does people go there?
Looking at Desmond. Why would we be concerned with chickens and what they scratch?
