Jimjar and Grimnir attack, dealing a significant amount of damage to Yestabrod. "Hey now! Stop, that actually hurt!" flaps the mouth of teeth on the slugs fleshy front. It also pierces your minds telepathically crating a strange stereo effect. "You're going to miss the main event, if you keep that up."
A slimy fleshy clump on Yestabrod's right side reaches out and grabs one of the myconid corpses near him. In just a few seconds it appears to absorb the myconid into the body of the large slug, and he seems to take some relief from the the wounds he's taken. ([Yestabrod heals: 10 damage)
In the distance, the line of strange figures continues advancing through the mists. Still too far away to make out what they are.
Valrish, seeing the massive spore cloud form, decides to run around it and follow Belwar's pyromaniac example by spurting a cone of flames into the myconid's face, while Eldeth keeps shooting at Yestabrod:
Valrish breath weapon: 7 of Fire damage or halved by a DC 13 DEX save.

Belwar's bonfire can't be seen beneath the girth of Yestabrod, but the myconid's shout of pain announces its presence. Right after that, Yestabrod reaches for yet another corpse, absorbing it to receive 9 health back.
The slug mushroom doesn't get much relief though as Valrish comes up behind and spews fire breath towards Yestabrod from outside the spore cloud.
"Stop, what are you doing? I can't officiate if you continue. Be patient!"squeaks Yestabrod, who appears now to be gravely injured.
"Oh, but I was so hoping to be there for the wedd..." Yestabrod's words trail off as zippy latches on and sucks the remaining life from the mutated monstrosity. The creature falls limp, and the remaining spore servant heads still stuck in the ground fall quiet . The procession of creatures from the mist begins to continue forward. They clear the mist, and you can now see clearly 12 myconid creatures, humanoid in shape, with flowing veils of fungus draped around them faintly glowing. They walk single file towards the corpse of Yestabrod. Behind them are 6 more fungal creatures, vaguely bipedal masses of blue mold. Set in a mossy cowl on top of the mold is the barest hint of a face.
Echoes spill from the misty cavern beyond, a cacophony of wheezing voices that wrap together like some kind of discordant music. The remaining heads planted in the Garden of Welcome begin to croak and groan, joining the horrible song.
Through the mist that shrouds the smaller cavern, you see the parade of creatures responsible for the melody. Their bodies are only vaguely humanoid, with clusters of luminescent lichen and tumescent growths forming chaotic patterns on their decaying flesh, their voices stabbing into your minds, both insane and gleeful in equal parts:
From rocky bed the toadstool rose, From chaos dark, her love She shows. Wish! Yearn! Laugh! The Lady will be wed! Crave! Hunger! Dance! Her joyous spores will spread! Youth is gone, beauty rots, Araumycos and Zuggtmoy! Joined together, heart to heart, Becoming one ’til death do part! Hail! Hail! Hail!
They make no move to attack you, ignoring you as they form a line stretching from Yestabrod towards the cavern behind.
Grimnir is picking up any interesting loot laying around... "I'm not sure of what is going on here, but here's our chance to just run away. Should we just take Stool and Rumpa with us and run for Blidgenstone ? From what I understood, this is our way to the surface.. I really like the myconid community but there is something foul here..." he added, still coughing from the spore he inhaled.
"Yeah, the sooner we leave, the better," Valrish says, not quite sheathing his sword as he backs away from the congregation of aberrations. "As much as I like Stool and Rumpadump, I don't want to be turned into one of those."

As the creatures carry out the mock wedding, you notice an area where items seemed to be piled up. It appears to be belongings to the spore servants, left here when they were buried in the ground. You find the following:
While the alien creatures perform the mock wedding with the corpse of Yestabrod officiating, you all elect to grab the loot and run. Moving quickly you begin running together back to the edge of the plateau, aiming for the path that lead you up here from the Neverlight Grove. Then, without warning, each of you sees the same vision in your minds.
The tableau of the mock wedding is replaced by a vision of the inside of a great tower. Spiraling stairs and balconies are carved into its walls, with the interior lit by phosphorescent patches of mold growing in whorls. In the center of the open space floats a humanoid figure, womanlike in form, but made entirely of fungi and mold. She is easily three times the height of the fungal bridesmaids that move up and down the spiraling stairs, tending to their giant mistress. They croon a strange, soothing song as they weave the substance of the giant figure into delicate lichen veils and a long, mycelium train like a bridal gown.
(OOG Everyone roll a Wisdom Save please, and for your NPC as well.)
As you come to, you are at the edge of the plateau, a clear escape path ahead of you. Behind you, the wedding finishes, and the procession of bridesmaids and chamberlains begins filing back towards the cavern that houses the giant mushroom. The spore servants gather to drag the body of Yestabrod with them, and they leave you alone.
At the bottom of the plateau, back in the grove, you encounter Sovereign Basidia and Rasharoo, the leader from the Circle of Explorers. Stool and Rumpadump are with them as well. Basidia seems concerned, and as rapport spores are released, you realize how surprised they are to see you. "You returned! No softer has returned from the Garden of Welcome before. We had hoped, but I can still barely believe it. What has happened? Did you find out who the Great Seeder is, or what Phylo has been up to?"
"The 'Great Seeder' is Zuggtmoy, Demon Queen of Spores and Fungus." I should've burned them before they could finish the so-called wedding, just on principle.

Valrish comes down from the plateau last, barely catching the end of Basidia's questions. After the vision of the figure and the wedding, the dragonborn was paralyzed for two minutes, and left behind in the rush to get away. Thankfully, none of the spore servants or myconid seemed to care, instead continuing their march back to the cavern.
Oorr, you notice Zippy struggle as you descend. The steeder seems to be reacting to objects that aren't there, dodging, jumping, and not heeding your commands. You eventually coax the steeder down off the plateau, and after about 10 minutes Zippy seems to return to normal, if not a little shaken.

Grimnir is taking the shortsword and the bag, and runs with the group. "Basida, what is going on here ? Do you know that your Great Seeder is a Lord Demon? All myconids up there, including Phylo, were tainted. I would recommend to take all sane myconids with you and go establish yourselves somewhere else... If you stay here, she will turn you all into mindless slaves." "We're going for Blidgenstone, I think". Grimnir said, looking at is fellow companion for confirmation. "Stool, Rumpa...are you coming with us ? I'm guessing that your run is done now that you have found your family. We still need to push more to reach the surface."
OOC: I think Belwar has cast detect magic, so he should know that I have these 2 magic items.
Basidia's eyes go wide as you tell them of the demon lord, and the corruption of the grove. Basidia turns to Rasharoo, not wasting any time. "Rasharoo, take what we have stored, and get all of those loyal to me out of the grove. As fast as you can. I don't know where Phylo is, and I don't want to wait around to find out."
"I already have the paths mapped out, sovereign!"says Rasharoo smartly, before rushing off to do just as ordered.
Turning back to Oorr, the sovereign presses a small silver inlaid box into the Aarakocra's hands. "This is a reward. All that I could scrounge from stuff left by other visitors. We have no need of it. May it help you reach the surface. We cannot thank you enough for exposing the Great Seeder for the lie it is! Come sprouts, let us go."
Rumpadump bows deeply to you all, "It's been a pleasure. Thanks for everything. Really glad you got Stool back to us, and you know, saved us from the Demon Lord and stuff. See you around."The sprout then turns to go with Basidia.
Stool lingers longer, even though Basidia calls out, insisting that time is short. Though it's not evident on Stool's face, you can tell through the rapport spores that the young myconid is sad to leave you, but knows that they belong with Basidia. Without words, the sprout rushes forward to hug Grimnir, then darts away to join the others.
After they have all left, a single Myconid adult approaches you. "Uh, yeah, so, Rasharoo said you were heading to Blingdenstone... and uh, well, I know the way. Rash also said I should take you that way, far as I can... so uh.... you ready?"

"Well, I... don't really have a name for softers to call me... The leaders... they give you names you understand, but uh... I.. well, just call me Hendrix." The myconid shuffles its shoulders in what sort of looks like a shrug, but you can't be sure. Hendrix leads you out on a path to the South of the Grove. You are accompanied by a stream of other myconid running as fast as their toadstool legs will carry them. In the distance you hear the voice of Sovereign Phylo shouting.
"Friends! Where are you going, the Great Seeder's wedding is nigh! This is a time to celebrate, not be afraid!"
Though the voice is pleading, Phylo does not seem to be putting any action behind it. A few of the myconid leaders loyal to Phylo watch as Basidia, Rasharoo, and Loobamub direct an exodus of myconid from the grove. A surprising amount stay behind, but you do not stop to count them. Hendrix leads you out of grove with the myconid refugees.
You travel with the group for a few moments before Hendrix leads you on a new path to the East. "Blingdenstone, uh... it's this way," they mumble. You follow, and after several miles of walking, you at last feel the presence of the demon lord subside, like a faint melody drifting off to the ether you can just barely remember.
Hendrix stops to allow you time to rest after the quick exit from the Neverlight Grove. You have some time to address your wounds and mental stability, as well as check out the box that Basidia gave you.
The box is unlocked, made of fine wood inlaid with silver, and worth some coin by itself. It contains three amethysts, four small diamonds, and one large diamond. It also has two greater potion of healing tucked in a pouch on the side.
