Class: I would like to either play (Format: Primary class / secondary class | Role | Race) : Warbarian (Warlock / Barbarian | Tank | Half elf, V. Human, Halfling, Drow), Roguelock (Warlock / Rogue | Rogue | Halfling, V. Human, Half-elf), Sorcadin (Paladin / Sorcerer | Bruiser | Dragonborn, Half-elf, V. Human), Glaive Knight (Fighter / warlock or paladin or sorcerer or wizard | Bruiser/Dualist | V. Human), Druid (Druid /(probably no multiclass) Barbarian or Monk | Any | Dwarf, Wood elf), Schitzo Time Mage (Wizard / Sorcerer | Mage | Gnome, High elf, Human, V. Human, Feral Teifling from SCAG)
Background: Varying based on which class.
I have a few questions though.
Is this going to be a full forum pbp or email or what? Are there any excluded races or rules? How will the party get to know eachother and should we work on fitting our backstories into it?
Sounds like fun. Hope I can play w/ you guys.
I was thinking we'd go full forum pbp. All races and classes in the PHB are allowed, though the races have the twists to their normal nature as mentioned in my initial post. The adventure begins in a tavern, a cliché for a reason, when someone comes in and requests the aid of adventurer work. So you could already be a group or all be individuals who wish to answer the quest, or some combination there off.
just use www.rolz.net for dice rolls instead of an honor system. You don't need to sign up for their service and can set a password for your game and send the users a private message with the password. Also, if anyone needs a character generator for speedy character generation, you can check out http://gmh.xocomp.net/dd5charactergenerator/.
Sadly for a combination of convoluted story reasons, but basically comes down to the isolation of this Kingdom, it's not really possible to have exotic races wandering in from a flavor standpoint. And also for simplifying and base lining playtest reasons, I'm only accepting PHB races and classes. : ( But in theory those are things I'm normally excited about.
Here is the map for those curious players. Forgive my lack of skill with campaign cartographer. Your character would have to be from somewhere in here.
Maybe the character is bound to do no harm to innocents while in front of a particular player? The threat of being killed by your fellow companions is a powerful motivator lol. They, instead, could get their rocks off by taking out other evil characters.

Features
Racial & Background: Dark Vision (60 ft) | Gnome Cunning: Adv on all Int, Wis, Cha saves against spells | Artificers lore: Add double prof. for history checks on Magic Items, Alchemical Objects, and Technological Devices | Tinker: See PHB 37 | Researcher: See PHB 138
Class: Spellcasting (Sorcerer) | Wild Magic Surge: Immediately after I cast a spell of 1st or higher, the DM can make me roll a d20. If I roll a 1, roll on the Wild Magic Surge table | Tides of Chaos (LR): I can manipulate the forces of chance and chaos to gain advantage on one attack roll, ability check, or saving throw. Any time before I regain the use of this feature, the DM can have me roll on the WMS table after casting a spell of 1st level or higher. Then I regain the use of this feature.
Equipment: 2 Daggers, Explorers Pack, Staff (Arcane Focus), Light Crossbow, 20 Bolts, Bottle of Black Ink, Quill, Small Knife, Letter from a dead colleague, Set of Common Clothes, small wooden statue statuette of a smug halfling
Looks like we've got a solid caster! Looking forward to seeing some of the other characters. Remember, normal PHB starting race class and equipment. Although, I would like to ask everyone who ends up in the party to also roll to receive an item on the trinket table of page 160 of the PHB.

Haha, well this is true, but having someone you can't trust to watch your back requires quite a bit to make that liability worth your time. If the party work out a logical reason for that I'm willing to work with it.
I took starting equipment from class and background. I rolled on the trinket table. I rolled 22 and got a wooden statue of a smug halfling. I added it to my equipment. Also, should I know anything about the starting town of gnomes?
Weapon Proficiency: Shortsword, all simple weapons
Equipment: Shortsword, Explorer's Pack, 10 darts, small knife, map of Ksenia, pet mouse, diary left by parents with several pages missing (item rolled on trinket table and integrated into urchin background), belt pouch, 10GP
Story:
I typed it up and didn't realize it was so long. I can PM you the backstory later if you'd like.
He's in it for the lulz. Will help as long as there is a steady income and opportunity to cause chaos and panic.
Well, there is not shortage of combat and income in this game, but it is a political intrigue campaign at it's heart, so causing chaos and panic could be rather disruptive to the party's goals. ; )

Looks good! I should mention that I'm using the Greek deities table for this campaign by default as that sort of effects you as a monk. I'm trying to set it up so that pantheons can be easily inserted for a pantheon of choice, but I'm defaulting to Greek as people at generally at least loosely familiar with it, and doesn't cause any copyright issues for the OGL.
Also, please do PM the backstory, I'd love to check it out.

Ooh. Lets make him Lawful Evil and he owes the party leader a favor but also needs money quick.

Sounds good! Anyone want to volunteer to be the friend owed the favor?
Never played this way before, but your idea looks interesting and I love helping playtest things. =) I was trying to follow along who actually made a character and what classes we have for sure, but got lost and of course this is page two and scrolling I can see the wild sorcerer and the monk. I'm not sure of one of the people on page one actually made his character yet or not as he was mentioning he could do the cleric. So I'd try to throw something fun in that fills in a possible hole in the group. And I'm not sure what class the drow was taking, my brain is stuck on the discussion of why he was here at all and his switch to lawful. ::chuckles::
A quick list of forum name and what char they are playing would help.

You don't add Dex to AC when wearing full plate.

Bynwyth's Bounty is the Dwarven City.
Parslen is home to the Gnomes
Stranded Scale is home to the Dragonborn.
The capital is Ksenia, and is the largest city.

Just checking in on how close we are to start this up.
One more party member and we're good to go, though I appreciate you asking as I've been attempting to make sure I follow the anti-bumping rules. : )
