Rules on firearms from early matchlocks to late flintlocks (I wouldn't mind breech loader, percussion caps, or even automatics but the more advance the firearm tends the be, the less impactful swords become).
This or even a non-magical tinkering class would be really interesting.
OH GOD YES! Doesn't even have to be a class, just rules for tinkering. I've been wanting to play a gadget obsessed rogue with spring loaded devices for sometime.
Another thing that would be cool would be spelljammer stuff.
I would like to see more feats, more battle master maneuvers, sorcerers that use Con instead of Cha as their spellcasting modifier, rules for PCs playing tiny or large creatures (such as changes in HD, AC, etc), the crafting and running a business systems completely revised (including examples of mundane and magical items that can be crafted by different artisans), all things pertaining to the Darksun setting, more diseases, and a new weapon proficiency system similar to 2e.
I'd like to see something done with alignment to either integrate it into 5e, or kill it off.
I'd also like to see backgrounds/charbuilding reworked/improved.
New weapons, Starting equipment, and other adventuring equipment, preferably more expensive, high-end stuff that you can't get at level 1 (that you can't get without a special feat? oh? ah?.
I would love it if they could explore some of the other continents of Toril, like Anchorome, Maztica, and Kara-Tur Some stuff from Abeir would be awesome too I would be absolutely ecstatic if they told us what went down in Maztica while it was switched with Laerakond and vice-versa

Abeir, Anchorome, Kara-Tur, Katashaka, Maztica, Zakhara, and Laerakond need some 5E love
I would love UA to cover lore from time to time. It would be nice to get little bits of history to supplement WotC's unwavering commitment to the Forgotten Realms
Perhaps not the very next UA but down the road they could possibly cover 5e updates to various NPCs of renown.
That's an excellent idea... but some of the various NPCs have transcended 5E's statistical capability to describe them, if the latest novels are considered.
Still, I wouldn't mind seeing some old favorites fleshed out.

As someone who really liked the choices and versatility in book of the nine swords and all the maneuvers in it, I really liked the battle master idea and his choices, I just thought there should be some more. So besides the new sub classes, thats what I hoped for.
Crafting would be nice too, feats...
I love Tome of Battle and I also think it would be awesome to get some more maneuvers and martial adepts as archetypes.
Also, once again - I agree that crafting is in desperate need of new rules and options.
They apparently have no interest or no idea how (somehow), but I'd like a generalist 'Wizard' Wizard. The Lore "better-Sorc-than-Sorc" Wizard was sad and way overthought, if a generalist was even what they were going for. I've heard the arguments (specialties don't take anything away), but I just can't get excited about playing a Wizard in 5E. It's my favorite class, but I guess I'll just have to stick to getting my magic jollies from AD&D. Luckily, I'm in a position to play both.
I have a long list of ideas but for starters maybe give us some improved dual-wielder rules? Make it a competitive and intuitive for the ranger...like it used to be in every edition before 5th? Personally I'd like some more "sticky" tank archetypes like the UA Knight.
If I were to really put it out there, I'd LOVE a mage tank; reduce the casting and limit the spell list while adding survivability on the front lines.
I would really like more stuff like the Eberron UA. Maybe build Krynn more from the Waterborne UA.

A professional engineer and amateur writer who has played D&D since 2015 (started with 5e) and has been a DM more than a player. When I'm not playing god I'm usually your friendly neighborhood rogue.
More options for current characters would be nice. I would like to see more feats, perhaps some that require certain levels into certain classes for the purists out there.
A sorcerer revised on the scale of the ranger revised. Many people are just as unhappy with the sorcerer as with the Ranger.
A revisit to Artificer. The pet doesn't scale and for some reason the ability score bonus is not at 19th level like everyone else.
Unless I missed it the Artificer hasn't been published in a book yet which means the UA is simply playtest material, which I believe they freely admit is not necessarily balanced. So most likely the Artificer is undergoing internal playtests and will be revisited.

I hate Dungeons & Dragons. :D

Dubito, ergo cogito, ergo sum.

Feats, backgrounds, races, and more classes maybe blance them to!
