Hello all. I have been DMing for about 20 years IRL, but I want to be able to run a PBP adventure as well. I am looking for 4-6 players for this PBP, and I will move as fast as the posting allows, so please keep that in mind when applying. When it comes to group decisions, i will do the greater consensus to move the story along, and if there is a lag of 24 hours or more for a character during combat, I will roll for them so we can move the story along.
I am looking to run through every book in the Pre-made starting with LMoP. I know that is ambitious, but lets see how far we get.
Rules for Applying.
In this setting, the powerful magics have been forgotten. The world is in chaos because the beings and races that relied on it are now weak. This is High Fantasy however, so their will be a lot of Magic items along the way. We will be using the Sane guide to magic prices for item costs.
You must roll your stats. Roll 2d6+6 7 times and then drop the lowest stat.
You can only be from the following classes: Bard, Fighter, Monk, Rogue, Ranger, Paladin, Warlock (No Devil/Demon bond)
You can only be from the following races: Aasimar, Human, Half Elf, Half Orc, Elf, Dwarf, Halfling, Gnome, Yuan-Ti Pureblood, Tiefling, Goliath, Genasi
NO HOMEBREW or UA. Only PHB, Swords of the coast, and Xanathar
You cannot be Evil
Death is much more serious in this world. When it comes to that, I will cover it, but needless to say, if your character dies, you will have the option of rerolling a character.
Have a skirt length background.
PM me if you have questions or applications.
We currently have an Aasimar Paladin in the party. Looking for 5 more players =)
sounds good / would love in on this / been playing for many years / like you kinda new to this pbp / i would love to fill any gap for toon once you get most of the party
I'm interested in this, but I do have one question about your class restrictions. Since you're excluding all of the normal full casters (Druid, Sorcerer, Wizard, and even Cleric), how do you feel about magic-focused archetypes like Eldritch Knight and Arcane Trickster? I'm asking because I'm interested in playing a dex-build Eldritch Knight.
Edit: Just realized you DO still have the Bard on your available list, and they are a full caster. I assume this is for flavor reasons, as their magic is more intuitive than most of the other full casters (except the sorcerer)?
All the subclasses are available. I would love to see eldritch knight and Arcane Trickster. They are 2 of my favorite classes.
The loss of the greater knowledge magic is why stuff like druid, wizard, sorcerer, cleric is excluded. I allowed Bards because they are natural lore seekers, so I thought it would be appropriate. Part of leveling up with magics will be different as well within the campaign. It is not an automatic gain of spells. It will be revealed as we go.
Good to know. This actually sounds like the perfect kind of campaign for my Eldritch Knight character. He's swordsman/fencer by necessity, but he's also an intellectual with a love of books and learning, which is what leads him to picking up some magic as well.
Guilty Pleasure: A Smile from a Pretty Face Adversary: The proprietor of an illegal pit fighting arena where you once took bets Benefactors: Your parents used their savings to bail you out of trouble in your younger days and are now destitute.
Backstory: Odo and Frances Langham were prosperous traders who eventually settled down and operated the ferry in the town of Womford on the River Dessarin. Utterly respectable and proper in every facet were the Langhams, until Caradoc came along. Their youngest son was a class clown in their local school, and a constant scamp and flirt. Discovering that many pretty girls liked pretty baubles, Caradoc simply could not keep his fingers to himself! In order to maintain their respectability and not lose customers, Odo and Frances would pay double what had been lost in order to keep their clientele appeased in the wake of Caradoc's pilfering ways. But there was only so much they could pay, and eventually the taxman came and took the business. Odo and Frances now live in a loft above their eldest child Jesse's barn, while Caradoc wandered down the river to Waterdeep to try and acquire enough wealth to restore his parents to their former fortunes. He found himself running a betting racket in one of Waterdeep's illegal fighting pits. He ran afoul of Rakhada Brickbat, the ruthless female dwarf that ran the pit for the Xanathar's Guild. On the run, the halfling thief finds himself traveling to Phandelin to maybe, finally, make something of himself and help his family.

Frixori is not happy with the life the gods have dealt her, in that she hates that she has been cursed with this infernal blood. She has spent many years researching her ancestry in the hopes to find the source of the blood that runs through her veins. Unable to track this down herself, as she has exhausted her resources on this plane, she has turned to the celestials. She has sought the help of a Solar in hopes that they can guide her so that she may one day extinguish the fiendish blood within her.
2 warlocks are perfectly fine. You can do that if you wish. I would not do the same warlock path though. A celestial is a cleric type. You could do any other of them =)
Also to everyone... I don't know if dndbeyond can share sheets. If this is the case, should we use mythweavers?
Once you create a campaign you'll get a link to it which you can share with those who you want to join. Just share the link and the PCs can join with their DnD Beyond created characters.

What he said. DnDB let's us share sheets to the campaign, allowing you as the DM to see all of them, while players can only see their own.
Well dang, first concept won't work, and now it looks like I wasn't fast enough to claim the class for my second concept...
Pretty sure two warlocks wouldn't be the best option...
Shoot -- I really liked your EK concept :)

My friend and I would love to join if you're interested. He has a fighter, and I have either a rogue or a cleric.
Rangers work fine. Roll it up./

Oh, well in that case, count me in for a Warlock!

Cool, so that's two 11's, a 12, a 14, a 15, and a 17. I can definitely work with that! :)
