I was reviewing the changes for my Circle of Spores Druid and came across something I had not noticed, and could certainly be argued.
Spreading Spores
At 10th level, you gain the ability to seed an area with deadly spores. As a bonus action while your Symbiotic Entity feature is active, you can hurl spores up to 30 feet away, where they swirl in a 10-foot cube for 1 minute. The spores disappear early if you use this feature again, if you dismiss them as a bonus action, or if your Symbiotic Entity feature is no longer active.
Whenever a creature moves into the cube or starts its turn there, that creature takes your Halo of Spores damage, unless the creature succeeds on a Constitution saving throw against your spell save DC. A creature can take this damage no more than once per turn.
While the cube of spores persists, you can’t use your Halo of Spores reaction.
So the questions I have are these;
a) Are allies(creatures) susceptible to the damage? saving throw notwithstanding
b) Is the druid(a creature) susceptible to his own Halo of Spores damage in the cube? unless he makes a save against ..his own spell save DC?
c) what happens if a druid, with Halo of Spores, moves into a cube of spores from another druid? do these spores have no respect for the belief system and sovereignty of other spores!
My thought is that RAW stands and allies and the druid are hooped. No worries it only takes a bonus action to drop. Still, it struck me as weird. Thought I might put it out there.
a) Are allies(creatures) susceptible to the damage? saving throw notwithstanding - yes, the rules specify creature. As such, any creature will activate this feature.
b) Is the druid(a creature) susceptible to his own Halo of Spores damage in the cube? unless he makes a save against ..his own spell save DC? - that also seems to be a correct interpretation of the Spreading Spores feature. It specifies creature and makes no exemption for the druid themselves. Think of it like a Wizard casting a wall of fire.
c) what happens if a druid, with Halo of Spores, moves into a cube of spores from another druid? do these spores have no respect for the belief system and sovereignty of other spores! - there is nothing in the rules of the feature to limit the amount of spores in a specific area, so there is no reason for this not to happen. The spores might team up though and go for a mouldy picnic.

I believe you are correct.
