I've decided to build a Tabaxi character who will dual wield whips .... right now im leaning toward fighter ... but im not sure of the Archetype ... what other classes make sense?
I was thinking about taking the Defensive Duelist, Dual wielder, and Sentinel feats ... anything else make sense? This is my backup character for my current campaign so its not super urgent (hopefully))
If your going with a Fighter, I would recommend the Champion or Samurai Martial Archetypes.
If your looking at multi classing, or taking another class in general. I would recommend a Swashbuckler rouge since you could take advantage of there increased movement and ability to disengage for free. Also you can make use of the sneak attacks on any attacks of opportunity.
I was leaning toward champion .... at least 10 levels to get the second fighting style .... tabaxi gets a unique move ability .... but I might end up going all the way .... 4 attacks per turn with a 15% chance to crit
If your DM allows for UA, get the Tunnel Fighter Fighting Style. The having your Attacks of opportunity not use up your reaction its pretty solid, especially with your sentinel feat.
Champion's really not a good subclass to pick unless you're a Half-Orc and you specialize in two-handed weapons with Great Weapon Master (and even then, it's still weaker than other subclasses until late in the game.)
You'd do much better as a Battle Master or Samurai.
