In Taishō era Japan, a secret organization known as the "Demon Slayer Corps" has waged a war against demons for centuries. Demons are former humans who possess supernatural abilities such as enhanced strength, rapid regeneration, and unique powers referred to as "Blood Demon Arts". These creatures feast upon human flesh and blood at night, but remain hidden and unknown to the average person. Demons can only be killed if they are exposed to direct sunlight, decapitated with weapons crafted from an alloy called Nichirin, or injected with a poison extracted from Wisteria flowers. There are Demons of extraordinary strength call "Moons", which are the most powerful Demons rank 12-1, the original Demon being rank 0.
In contrast, the Demon Slayers are entirely human but employ specialized elemental breathing techniques known as "Breathing Styles". These techniques grant them superhuman strength, heightened abilities, and increased resilience that enable them to fight demons effectively. Despite this most Demons are significantly stronger than the average slayer. The most formidable Demon Slayers are known as the "Hashira" and gain this title through multiple advancements in the Corps' ranks, culminating in killing fifty demons at the highest level or a member of the Twelve Kizuki (Lit, Twelve Demon Moons)
Every year, the Corps hold the Final Selection. At the top of Mount Fujikasane, a mountain covered with Wisteria flowers from its slope or foot, demons lie in wait, starving for their next meal. For 7 days and 7 nights straight, those who wish to become Demon Slayers must remain upon the mountain, fighting off demons when they appear. Before the selection, you trained with a master to learn the way of the sword and the breathing arts. After a long terrifying night of slaying, running from, hiding from, and outsmarting demons you finally make it back to the summit to see two men standing at the gate. Both tall and muscular. The first man has platinum hair and wears a partially open ninja outfit, with a fanged oni mask and wide brimmed Kasa, with an unquestionably proud smile on his face. The second man has golden blonde hair, wearing clothes with long, baggy sleeves, which he has each arm in the opposite sleeve across his chest Once you stumble back into the safe zone you finally take some time to rest, the petals of the trees drifting in the wide, your fellow new demon slayers arriving at around the same time. The two men walk into the center of the summit and begin to speak, announcing congratulation for not only surviving the final test but also returning to the summit within the day. The first man clasps his hands, beginning to explain your new role, hunting a killing the same creatures that were hunting you during the test, having to slay demons all around the world and grow your strength to face stronger ones. With that established he announces that before they begin training there will be a week long resting period, so that injuries can be heal as well as muscle strain. He then lets everyone go to do just that, before walking away to rest himself. As he leaves he says one last thing to everyone in a booming yet cheery voice "Oh, and welcome to the Demon Slayer Corp. Hope you survive."

Mod Character descriptions:
(Jester's Shadow Breather) Mr.Shitsuji-
28 year old man, making him one of the older slayers in the corps, his skill and brutality being what allowed him to survive so long. He casually wears an open chested traditional black ninja gi, an oni mask to mock the demons, a wide Kasa, and has two small Nichirin Sickles on one hip. The open chest gi reveals a chest covered in deep scars, old and new, although he seems completely unbothered by them. He is a rather quick and deadly slayer but outside of combat he is a kind (If a bit arrogant,) person who wishes the best for everyone. He has a scar that resembles one on his shoulder, leading up to his neck. Because he is 28, even if he did manifest a demon slayer mark, he wouldn't waste any time, going to find as many demons as he could within the 5 hours of life he would have left, not having much family to say goodbye to that wouldn't do the same. He tries his best to keep as many people safe as possible, which means many of the slayers he teaches end up quitting under his advice, because he knows from experience they would die in combat. Although he isn't all knowing, many slayers still end up dying under his watch, and he visits their graves every day he can.
(Himy's Light Breather) Mr.Yoake-
He is 21 years old and 6’9”, he has Shaggy golden blond hair and odd silver eyes. He wears a white robe with golden accents, with incredibly baggy sleeves and a belt with various pouches on it. Under his sleeves are Nichirin Kuragsama, their chains running up his arm, though people hardly see those. In each pouch are various explosives, most of them flashbangs, but a few are traditional explosives. He always has a slight smile on his face, though when he fights demons, his grin becomes sadistic, taking immense pleasure in craving demons into mincemeat

If you reach half your maximum hit points, you can use your action to activate your demon slayer mark, which lasts for 30 minutes. By doing so, you gain the following benefits:
You gain ten extra feet of movement and can jump 10 feet higher and further, stacking with Total Concentration Breathing: Constant, you regain 10 hit points at the start of each of your turns, you can make 1 extra attack, you can take the dash action as a bonus action
You also gain a breathing dice at every level, all characters starting at level one unless told otherwise.
If you want to play a Demon simply send a pm to the mods, which are me and Himy so far.

*You didn't explain Wind Breathing, so I'm not sure what would happen if someone rolled that.*
*Also, I read it and I still don't know what a form is or what choices there are.*
Let him who is without sin cast the first stone.
May each word that I speak be backed by each of my teeth.
*Theres a note for that somewhere, lemme see if I can find it*
Yo, I'm Himy (He/him) not as active as I use to be, but I'm here from time to time. I don't got much else to say.
"From the stars of the inner sea, from the tower of insight, from the four corners of paradise, let them know; their story is filled with blessings. Only those free of sin may pass... Garden of Avalon!”
”The elements coalesce, amalgamate, and bring forth the star that interweaves all creation. Bow down with death! Enuma Elish!”
*Oh sorry, I'll fix that, and for anyone who is confused, forms are attacks or effects you can use at the cost of breathing die. You get to decide what they do, within reason of course.*

*So we make up our own forms from scratch? Perhaps there should be some readable guidelines about how strong they should be or what limits they can have.*

*Well Forms at the beginning if they do damage most likely would simply add a d4 of damage, thats why I said you should run your ideas past us if you think its within reason. I'll try to do that.*

*Does a Nichirin weapon have to be a sword, or could it be a different shape? I was thinking I might want to use the Serpent Hunter from Elden Ring, which is a greatspear that harnesses the power of the wind.*

*You can have a sword or any other weapon from the time period, and I love the serpent hunter, its awesome. Although it should have worked against Messmer. You can totally use it.*

*I'm intending to play a rich merchant kid who is trying to kill his demonized grandfather.*
*I'm going to have to explain how he became so skilled... expensive mundane training, perhaps?*

*Chances are he found a cultivator. Which is a master and teacher of a certain breathing style. Either that or it runs in the family. Those are the two most common ways to get training*

*Also, jester, there seems to have been a communication issue, as I thought they were going to get the cannon forms, then make new ones in dire, do or die situations*

*I'd say cultivator is more likely. I imagine he was turned away many, many times, but eventually, he ended up getting accepted primarily through pure persistence.*
