When I group up monsters, they don't stay grouped when I roll initiative and start the encounter in the combat tracker, which seems to defeat the entire point of being able to group them in the first place. Is there something I'm doing wrong that's preventing them from grouping, or is that just not something that's implemented yet? Would appreciate any help. Thanks!
Yes, after I choose run encounter/start - I understand that multiples separate & gain A, B, C labels, which is something I like very much about the combat tracker, I was just curious as to why grouped creatures of different types in an encounter don't stay grouped in the combat tracker. Maybe I was mistaken about the purpose of grouping monsters, I thought it was to group them in initiative.
I'm mostly asking because I love the visual signifier of the dotted line box & group name around the grouped monsters it shows before pressing "run encounter" (pictured below). Could've sworn I saw them stay grouped over a year ago, but I'm starting to think I just imagined/misremembered that, haha!
Do they have the same bonus to initiative, that could be effecting it, because it uses the same roll, but they do wind up in a different order in that case.

Do you mean after you choose start? It splits them out so you can see the current statistics, including the health, of each individual in the groups.

That's got to be it! I'll just stick to rolling initiative manually by group for now to keep them together.
