Hi everyone, couldn't find this specific topic anywhere so thought I'd ask, sorry if it has been asked about before! I'm homebrewing a spell that increases the die type used as it scales with slots instead of the amount of dice rolled but can't for the life of me work out how to make that work; I've had it appear as just the same die size regardless of level (5th: 1d4+x, 6th: 1d4+x, 7th 1d4+x, etc.); I've seen the right die size increases but suddenly they're doubled from the first upcast onwards (5th: 1d4+x, 6th: 2d6+x, 7th: 2d8+x, etc.); and I've also seen it jump straight to the largest die size after scaling only once (5th: 1d4+x, 6th: 1d12+x, 7th: 1d12+x, etc.).
Basically I could really do with some help on this; I just want it to show as 5th: 1d4+x, 6th: 1d6+x, 7th: 1d8+x, 8th: 1d10+x, 9th: 1d12+x when it comes up on a character sheet. I'm aware there are other optional effects like a bonus to AC or a saving throw, but pretty sure it won't show those up regardless. But it would be nice to see at least the damage reduction dice roller when looking at it in the spell section of the character sheet.

Thanks in advance!
Higher level scaling type: spell level
Then set it to 1d6, 1d8, and 1d10 at appropriate levels.
Like this?
Yep, should work.
When editing a spell, save at the top level, and give the caching a good 15 mins. You probably won't see changes immediately.
Got it working now! Thanks so much!
