I seemingly cannot use standard character creation on this site, it keeps pulling up the "Whoops! We rolled a 1 on our API check. We're heading into town to visit the blacksmith for repairs." and I have went through every recommended step, I have signed out cleared cache signed back in, tried other search engines and have even reset my pc and router. Nothing seems to be working but it is only the feature that I need to use. Can someone help me please.

How far do you get into the creation process? Does it crash immediately after you choose Standard and go to the next page?

Have you already hit the maximum limit of Your Characters that you can create (6 without a sub)?

Do you have anything in Your Homebrew Collection? Some people seem to run into issues creating characters due to something in a homebrew collection, whether or not they are going to add a homebrew.

In my opinion the site shouldn't even let you get that far in the process if you've hit the character limit, so it's not dumb to assume it was a bug.
