I'm completely puzzled by the way DM maps appear to have been implemented in Maps VTT. In every other VTT I have used the DM version is annotated and always seen by the DM, but never the players. In Maps VTT if the DM views the DM maps, the players do too. So what's the point? Am I missing something?
Maps is just providing all the maps as available in case a DM wants to use the annotated one for whatever reason. Sometimes the DM maps are something you might want to show to the players, for example if it's not an area they're exploring, but one the players need to be able to reference. I can vaguely recall some adventures featuring maps of locations the players explore freely (think a tavern or ball) and having the referenced location numbers is useful.
