So I tried to submit a request about this issue, unfortunately that is also inaccessible. The last field where it says what can we help you with simply has no combo box or text field that is registered on my screen reader. Which for the record is JAWS17. I saw Critical role going on and on about Dndbeyond.com so I figured I'd try it out. I downloaded the app on my iPhone, tried to sign up but that would not work with voice over. The audio captcha would not load. I went to my laptop and finished the registration process. I went back to my phone to create a character I use in my current game but no matter where I looked I could not find the create a character button. I had downloaded the basic rules which should include the super basic races and classes. I even went to youtube to see if I could find a tutorial that might give me more insight into what I was missing. The more I looked the more it became clear voice over was just not picking up many of the options that should be available, at least based on what I saw on your site. I went to my laptop to create my character, I found the character builder went to select my race and again there was no option there. I was starting to think wow do I have to pay for what wizards of the coast puts online for free? From what I saw on youtube this was not the case. I do believe it is just an oversight on behalf of your developer that these aspects of your site do not function with accessible technology. I don't know if you are aware, but D&D is very popular within the blind community as it is one of very few games we can play with our sighted friends without feeling like we are hampering anyone's fun. The theater of the mind is all you really need. This app seems like it could put an end to my time searching through an absurdly long text document for just the right stat, or piece of gear. i would very much like to take advantage of it. It would be much appreciated if you could look into addressing these issues, or even within your support section adding a bit of instruction for blind users if there is something I somehow missed. Thank you for your time, I wish you great success with your site/app.
I am a blind D&D player who has also had difficulty using the character builder on the desktop site. This is particularly disappointing because I have actually found your digital editions of D&D resources to be very accessible and have purchased several for use. It would be great if your development team could look into making the character builder portion of your website in particular more accessible to screenreaders. Thank you so much.
