I play a Changling (old UA) warlock (hexblade) I am in campaign that is expected to end at level 15 (possibly 20 is we continue onto an expanded story line) and just got to level 5 with 6 around the corner and wanted to see peoples' thought in if bard (blades) what a solid enough multiclass to go into and also get an Idea on spell selections going forward. The original goal with the character was to be able to imitate anyone and talk the party into any location by replicating their abilities and being able to use any weapon they could with pact of the blade. However character development wise I think they would be leaning away from the reliance on their patron and want to develop their own skills at this point so I come you you all with the thought of if going bard is the right corse of action and what spell choices might be most tempting moving forward. As of now I am one of the main front-line fighters of the group due to having a surprising amount of luck, surviveability, and damage. So far I'm leaning towards collage of swords due to the fun and versatility if the flourishes plus my DM agreed to let me take the fighting style "Superior Technique" and that along with the feat that gives maneuvers seems like a great option to me. the other choice I've thought about is collage of whispers but is seem to situational to me at this point. all that together with the indecisiveness I have for spell and I'm just second guessing If it is even a good idea at all.
For the record I am a UA Changeling Hexblade warlock pact of the blade with the lucky feat and the following Stats: Str 10 Dex 16 Con 14 Wis 12 Int 13 Chr 21 (max 22 due to magic Item 20 no Item)
Welcome to the bard forums! Pull up a chair and order yourself a drink! College of Swords is a fine and fun choice to enhance your swordplay. I have a Swords Bard/Hexblade/Swashbuckler multiclass myself and it's great fun! I don't know if I would recommend Superior Technique since you only have one superiority die between rests, but I guess if your game has a lot of short rests, that might not be bad. Since you have Lucky, you might want to consider a crit fishing build. Find ways to get Advantage or Disadvantage, then Lucky and Hexblade's Curse together will give you a 27.1% chance to crit which is when you can stack a flourish, a superiority die, and hex damage die to great effect.
The College of Whispers will make you a social monster and only slightly less fun in combat. Less flashy, but your damage will still be good. And you can be a master as shadowy manipulation.

Canto alla vita alla sua bellezza ad ogni sua ferita ogni sua carezza!
I sing to life and to its tragic beauty To pain and to strife, but all that dances through me The rise and the fall, I've lived through it all!
