I would love to do more playtesting. My group uses DNDBeyond for our character sheets, for its ease of access to information. I would be proposing to my longstanding group to remake their characters with the new rules and give it a go. But that's not an option. We play both in person and virtual. In order to use the new rules we have to create characters on pen and paper and are unable to use all of the tools we have invested in to make playing easier. I wouldn't mind playing pen and paper but its a far less often option.
I understand that DnDBeyond made the choice to not carry UA material but that was before the purchase by Wizards and the new UA material is for a much larger initiative.
No worries, anyone competent in DDB's homebrew tools can just whip it up as a homebrew class... If homebrew base classes had ever been added...
I can almost just build them as a subclass for sorcerer (since it only has 1 class feature to ignore) if I could just make custom spell lists to overwrite the sorcerer one.
This hints at my problem: homebrewing One D&D rules really shouldn't be on the DDB users. There used to be a "Enable UA Content" toggle on the character creation page, but that's not there anymore. IMHO, the development of One D&D rules changes for playtest (as Unearthed Arcana) should have been codeveloped into DDB and released at the same time. Especially now that WotC owns DnDBeyond. The fact that the new playtest rules aren't available in DDB is, frankly, poor support of the player community and the platform.

Especially since the main way of getting the playtest packets is through D&D Beyond.
Reality is more amazing than we are often led to believe.
