I have a few things I'd love to see added to the encounter builder.
1. Enemy/Ally tag - Allow DMs to flag a monster/NPC as an ally to be calculated on the party side for CR calculations.
2. Exclude Party Members - Allow DMs to flag party members as included/excluded when selecting a party/running the encounter.
3. Folders and Campaigns - Allow DMs to create folders (including nested folders) for encounters. Automatically create Encounter folders for each Campaign the DM has created.
4. Default Encounters - Create default encounters for DMs to pull in. Have these searchable by Difficulty for party, enemy types, enemy names, environments, etc. For example, "Graveyard Undead - 4 Players, Avg Level 4 - Medium Difficulty. Monsters: Ghoul x1, Skeletons x4, Zombies x2" and "Graveyard Undead - 4 players, Avg Level 8 - Medium Difficulty. Monsters: Deathlock x1, Specter x2, Zombies x6". DMs could copy these into their campaigns, then customize them.
5. Adventure Encounters - When you purchase a published book with encounters in it, all published encounters within the book are automatically created in your default encounters folder. Can copy all "Adventure" encounters into your campaign.
Good ideas, but you can already exclude party members. Select Manage Characters and click on the three dots in the upper right of the character you want to exclude and you get an option to hide character or show if it's already hidden.
