This channel used to support making things to add to your DnD experience. A way to customize your adventures to suit your table. Yet, I have found that over the last year and a half or so the homebrewfeatures in here are terrible. Items I make up are visible in my collection. When I go to place that magic item I have created on a character, it is nowhere to be found. In the index of items when entered in by name. Why is this? Is it a delay of servers or something about how to update information? There is a sever limitation of assigning weapon damage to magic items as well. It is limited to the basic weapons that are in the players handbook. As in, if I am making a powerful mace that is stronger then a regular mace. I want it do a base of 1d8 verses your 1d6 mace. Nope. Doesn't list item if I do that. Also, adding in magical abilities such as a simple +1,+2, and so one is not recorded in the entry. You can put it in the conditions and modifications. Yet, when rolled, it doesn't come up. I find that though there has been a lot of talk about making DnD yours, it hasn't been followed up with action. Correction of code on character sheets and just a universal adaption of the rules in the book. Please, Please, PPPPPLLLLEEEAASE work on correcting this! I have long enjoyed the thought about being able to create magic items using the rule set you have provided so far. Yet, when I try to play by the applications rules, it just simply does not show my item created. I would love to experience more of DnD as I have enjoyed playing over the last five years with 5E. You guys have been slacking a bit on filling in the gaps. How about we focus on the quality instead of quantity of items you already have. Improve on the applications already made and used items. Attach more players and make it seamless to enjoy your features. That way a new wave of players coming in, spending money and increasing the monetization of DnD. We all want it to grow and become better. Please take the time to do it. You have the people, just the time needs to be made available.
Heck, even a page that talks about how to make monsters in the homebrew section as well as races or classes. Which currently are a nightmare to make in the homebrew section. your flying blind and though it looks easy. The algorithm you have up isn't helping out. There isn't anything that says yes you can, or no you cannot anywhere. Hell, I don't even know how to enter in abilities and features for races into it because it doesn't tell me anything. So please, get some coders on this. We, the ones you want to continue using your platform are running into more brick walls and pitfalls then treasure hoards and magic weapons. Please, work on this so we, the few who want to explore but don't know where to look can get some help. thank you for your time and all input and replays that are not condescending are welcomed.
1. Weapon damage dice are set by type, but if you do not mind it being listed on the sheet - you can take another weapon and use it as the base to get its base damage die. It is not appealing to my eyes so I do not do that.
2. You can add additional modifiers and they do work. You have to do to Modifiers and select -> Damage - Type then add the dice roll you want.
3. Race and Sub-classes are tough to make, but they work. You can work off the base, but it takes time to make them functional.
There is a good walkthrough in the Homebrew section to make those things, but it does take some practice to get good at it. I am assuming you want this to work on Avrae and I can say your efforts are rewarded when your players just have to add the item or the class and everything functions properly.
