When making a homebrew backround in Dnd Beyond, there is the option to add contacts; i've done this for a background, however they don't show up anywhere. Where would these contacts appear on my character?
Next to that, I don't believe the equipment from the background is automatically added to a character with the background, is this a correct assumption?
I am also confused about this. The contacts table appears when browsing the homebrew collection, but does not appear when you select the background in the character builder. It is unclear what function the contact and non-contact choices are intended to serve when constructing the homebrew. It is not obvious what such tables are meant to provide that the background-specific table does not do already.
Is it merely a table for suggested builds (e.g. pick this specific combination of personality, ideal, bond, and flaw?) The naming of this feature would lead one to believe that it is for the entities that the character would have already met in the world, but "non-contact" data is not equally intuitive if that is the case.

Oh wow. So this has been confusing people for three years? Now I don't feel quite so bad.
