I think it would be handy if some non-weapon items could be equipable. Does anyone know if this is planned?
Even better would be a restriction of two hands for equipping. In other words, one could only equip if there's an empty hand available. This could be extended to only allowing one type of armour equipped at a time.
As someone with players that are quite strange and sometimes wield doors, I approve.

I know we all have different capacities in terms of what it's easy to keep in mind at any given time during play, but is this something that would really improve play for people? I ask this out of curiosity and desire to understand. It feels like video gamification to me, but I want to be shown how I'm wrong.

I'd be for it. I find my players often forget like... They have a spellcasting focus, and a shield, but then they want to take an AoO with their dagger. Or they're holding a torch, but then suddenly dual-wielding scimitars. It'd be a really cool to see an off/on option to "Limit Hand Capacity" or something.

I like it.
