I am new to the site but already found something I find really odd, as a TON of sites with a similar situation handle it a little better.
I'm specifically referring to purchasing a piece of one of the manuals. Let's use my specific example: Warlock Otherworldly Patrons. The way it works now, you click the drop down menu, you see one Patron choice, and then a link (not even in the dropdown menu) that implies but does not directly state there are more Patrons available for purchase. Why not just have the drop down menu include all Patron choices available for official purchase from the get-go? When you hover over the choice you see a summary, and it's a hyperlink to a larger synopsis. Of course I know the amount of information would need to be incomplete, otherwise there would be no purchase necessary. Attach a "purchase now" link to each Patron, you click it and it adds that Patron to your cart. Bam, purchase, done.
The current system seems wildly inefficient, since you first have to either know about the existence of other pacts previously or just take a chance and browse the marketplace and happen to click on one of the books that contains them, scroll down, and then look at the subclass list. However, since the subclass list just says "The Archfey" or "The Great Old One", with no link or information whatsoever attached, you still would be very likely to not be able to determine what subclass belongs to what class without prior knowledge.
Is there some kind of core facet of how this website is designed that prevents this that I am missing? I know there is some merit to the argument "People wouldn't be going to this site in the first place if they don't have prior knowledge", but that still doesn't resolve the issue of user-friendliness presented by these inefficiencies.
Are you talking about the character builder? That is expressly designed to only show purchased content to enable a better user flow. Considering how many options there are, it'd be incredibly frustrating keep selecting options only to be told you need to purchase them.
