My character uses an arcane focus when casting spells, however last week's adventure ended with my wand being taken (indeed all weapons and gear from our entire group was removed) - therefore I cannot cast any spells requiring materials (unless I happen to find a piece of fleece or whatever inside this dungeon).
Anyway - my suggestion is: could the Arcane Focus and/or Component Pouch be items that need to be set as Active on the character sheet otherwise those M spells get disabled?
As it is I'm having to research all my spells to check which ones I'll no longer able to cast tonight...
I'm sure this isn't the first time nor the last that a DM has kidnapped a group of adventurers, confiscated all their gear and locked then in a cell.
But you can cast M spells without having a component pouch or arcane focus. so having them be active or reactive dependent on your inventory would be categorically incorrect as if something requires a bag of sand you can easily get that without either focus or pouch.
however I believe right there on the spell page under notes it very much says V/S/M on the spells.
You are shit out of luck. No focus, no pouch, no spells with the letter M in their Components.
Now, be aware, if you are a Wizard and have lost your spell book, the ONLY spells you know are the ones you have Prepared, anything else that was in your spell book that isnt in your Prepared list is gone if that book is destroyed or lost. Those prepared spells are then the only spells you have that you can write back into a new spell book.
Another solution that people have asked for in the past is for the spells tab to have VSM filters. That solution would also help casters who chose not to take War Caster, and probably some other situations.

The V/S/M is quite clear in the Notes section when you look at your spell list, duration is also listed there, so there isnt much need to be added an extra column in there. War Caster only applies to the Somatic component side and not Material and just allows you to be using both hands for a two weapon combo or a weapon/shield. There are no substitutes when it comes to Material components, if it doesnt have a cost, then you can use a focus for it, but if there is a cost you need that specific item. Which is why you are SoL if you have your focus/pouch/holy item, taken from you. Of course, if you have spells like Booming Blade, all you need is a weapon that is worth 1sp, even an improvised weapon can have Booming Blade on it, as long as it value is worth 1sp or more.
No one's asking for an extra column, we were asking for an extra filter. So you could filter out all the M spells, or filter to just your M spells, and see which ones you could conceivably get your hands on the contents for.

What you are asking for does involve an extra column with how the backend looks to be setup. They would have to split the Components into a three column check box for V S M for such filtering to take place since that isnt how the entry is right now.
Yes, I know what his suggestion is about, and its been pointed out by two people including myself. It's right there in the notes, which is why it cant be filtered. If you KNOW you dont have your focus/pouch, then you KNOW you cant cast M. There is no need to be filtering even more what spells show on your Spells page. That adds more complexity for programming, and may even break the mechanics. TBH, asking for such is just being a lazy player. To add to here, while I know you can filter such spells on the Spells pages outside the character sheet, you can easily do that there and prepare such a list in your notes, but again it comes down to simply doing the extra steps yourself.
PS: Spellcasting characters arent meant to be an easy class to be played. While a Wizard can be seen as easy to play, you have all your spell side to have to consider. However there are a lot of defensive and offensive spells that a Wizard can have that require zero in the way of Material Components and with Slot Scaling in any spell that does so can be doing a higher level of damage. If you have Prepared only spells that require M and nothing that doesnt when doing your spells after a Long Rest, then tbh you arent playing a Wizard to its full potential.
I am very new to using the D&D Beyond tools - have no idea about its mechanics/backend set up, but have to say I am very impressed with it so far.
Previously I've had copious notes scribbled in a note book and am constantly flipping through checking all the things... The character builder tool is fantastic.
Certainly don't expect the DDB programmers to hop to my request, but thought it worth a mention.
(Meanwhile, you'll be relieved to know we got our gear back after only a bit of torture and interrogation and promising to go and stop an elder being from another demi-plane. So, we're back to LVL 1 and rolling new character next week.)
OK, backend column, that makes sense. It wasn't clear from your post that you were referring to the backend. But the utility of the feature still stands. The whole point in having a digital sheet is to make lookup easier. They've got concentration and ritual filters, but those are also apparent without using filters, so arguing that the notes include VSM is not a valid enough argument to me to preclude having this additional feature somewhere down the line. There's a lot of information to parse in the notes section, and people with dyslexia or other information processing issues might appreciate the additional filtration, let's not go straight in to calling people lazy.
