I can see the Artificer, and other such things when I go to DNDBeyond.com, However, I also have the iPhone App, which is basically just a useful way to view the source books. Is there a way to download the UA content (or even homebrew) to my phone in the DNDBeyond app?
The mobile app is (currently) compendium only content; no homebrew, characters sheets or UA. I know they're planning on adding character sheets to the app, but I doubt that they'll be adding UA content seeing as it doesn't really fit into the compendium structure.
Because UA isn't a WotC source book and DDB's license doesn't extend to fabricating new content. It's why, for example, if a typo appears in a physical book and hasn't been errata'd, that same typo will appear on Beyond.
Because it doesn't appear in a published book, therefore isn't compendium, therefore doesn't appear in the compendium only app.
For example, if you load up the compendium entry for the players handbook and go to the classes section you won't find anything but the PHB classes. This is not the same as the classes section of the site.
The app is only compendium; if it doesn't exist in a compendium released by WotC (such as with The Tortle Package or Lost Laboratory of Kwalish), it doesn't get pushed to the app. DDB can't invent a compendium entry because that's outside the scope of their license. If you don't see it in the sources menu of the main site, it won't be in the app.
Just don't use DDB if they aren't going to change their poor stance and actively try to help the player base and user base.
The app is for compendium content. Unearthed Arcana is not in any compendium source, therefore it doesn't belong in the app. The app is only for published content, which UA is not.
Calling this consistent design and behaviour a 'poor stance' seems a tad hyperbolic, telling people not to use DDB even moreso.

Why not? Just make UA another "Source book".

But UA content appears in DDB's online presence. why not the app too?

I agree with LizardBenchMango, they have the content in their database they could easily enable it on their app.
