I've got a player who wants to be a Beastmaster Ranger. After realizing the Primal Companion isn't well integrated into her D&D Beyond character sheet, she simply gave up and picked a different subclass. That's really sad.
It's such a simple fix. The Primal companion shows up under features and traits and in the action section, with stats auto filling in, so that's great. The HP being "charges" is weird and not ideal but at least that's functional. But why is there no "attack" option! Just add that under Bonus Action, "Primal Companion Attack", a nice button she can click and it rolls the dice. I know we can make a custom action for it, but my player is uh not super tech savvy, so when that was the next step like I said she just gave up.
Please add asap. If you want my full advice, also automatically put the companion's full stat block under extras creatures, so it's easier to manage HP plus all other ability checks saving throws etc.
Anything that scales can't go into Extras. If you want the creature there, you need to make a homebrew creature. (This is because Extras pull from stat blocks directly.)
