Can you guys maybe make one post saying goodbye and then really leave?
They aren't really leaving. It is just a hollow empty threat in an attempt to get attention. I know that, you know that and WotC knows that as well.
No, I left. My sub was also up for renewal yesterday, so my leaving is tangible. The money I would have spent here? Gone.
If this is the reason that D&D Beyond and by function of their overlords Wizards finally communicates to the audience? So be it.
The reality is for those who are staying? I hope they have a fun time. I hope they enjoy TTRPG and D&D and have memorable campaigns. To those who are detractors? I hope they are fair in their criticisms. Criticize WoTC. Criticize Hasbro. Criticize the legal teams. Leave complaints where people will read them and don't focus them in one place.
Don't shit on Jeremy Crawford, Dan Dillon, Chris Perkins etc. Don't throw threats at Kyle, the name behind the posts. You can CRITICIZE, you can't threaten. There's a difference.
Your missing something I feel is very obvious they're saying "I'm leaving" not "I've left" leaving implies they are in the process of going away while left means they're gone, it's a subtle difference but an important one.
How many times do they get to say "I'm leaving." and not actually go anywhere before people get to question whether or not they are actually leaving?
As many times as you get to complain about it.
i don’t really mean to be flippant, just direct
My paid account doesn’t expire until September. My right to be here and have my day lasts until then.
t.
Did you say at any point "There is nothing WotC can do to keep my business." or any equivalent there of, then proceeded to run from forum to forum spouting about how you are leaving and never coming back?
Or have you been attempting to influence changes that might get you to stay?
No, I left. My sub was also up for renewal yesterday, so my leaving is tangible. The money I would have spent here? Gone.

The whole point of D&D Beyond, for me, was a company who was trying to do things outside the scope of Wizards while also being a very inclusive toolset. At the beginning of 5e, prior to Tashas, this toolset was able to handle the things that came out. Tashas broke the mold(still think its a great book), but this website wasn't able to handle it. Then more things like that kept coming and the reality was as the game became more open and flexible, the rigidity of this website was obvious. That was OK when there were dev updates though. We could see the behind the scenes stuff and see development. As time has gone on, features have disappeared without notice. The twitch extension was mothballed. Embedded character sheets were mothballed. It's fine when features disappear, but there were never any announcements of it. Just threads going "hey, this stopped working" and then usually a moderator, aka an unpaid volunteer coming forward like yeah you right shits gone.
Those are past issues. Current issues for me is this toolset is going to be the reason why One D&D isn't able to expand in the ways they want. I think that's a plus and a minus, because now at least D&D Beyond should be in the conversation on things that are coming down the playtest pipeline and hopefully able to develop proactively, not retroactively. The flip side, if there is a neat thing that they have internally that would be easy to enable as a pen and paper player but the toolset can't handle it? I don't see it coming down anymore.
Also that they just don't communicate with their customers until shit blows up and they are forced to. This was a Beyond problem after Badeye left, became worse under Joe and is now at a boiling point due to the OGL. I've been extremely vocal on this. There is a lot of focus on the discord live chat, there is nothing on the forums. You can find information on a service that was never intended to be a primary distribution point of information, but you can't find the information on the website you actually put money into.
The OGL stuff wasn't even icing on the cake for me. I had already planned on cancelling my sub as the player alpha for Demiplane is open and is starting to take shape for Pathfinder. It did make it far easier though.
I'll still post occasionally, considering I have over a grand invested in this website I feel entitled to it. I won't give people support though. I won't answer functional questions. I'll just post and move on. My wallet has left, which is honestly the most important thing. I'm not purchasing new sources.

All of that is extremely fair. I mean that sincerely.
I do not take you as a "burn everything and salt the fields" type which has been my primary complaint in this thread. It is just extremely tiring to try to work out a way to move forward with people throwing things and flipping tables so to speak.
Of course people are allowed to complain and be angry, but the flip side of that is people are allowed to be annoyed when they make a mess of everything just for the sake of "burn everything and salt the fields".
Can you guys maybe make one post saying goodbye and then really leave?
No.
Sorry, but life is not as simple as your perhaps limited capability to understand it.
I am spending money elsewhere - AND ALSO I am looking to what D&D will become after WOTC crashes and burns - let's say past One DnD to 7th edition.
In my time I've played TTRPG games from TSR, Iron Crown Enterprises, The Games Wizars, WOTC, Pazio West End Games - and many others.
1 - It's absurd to think that just because I played (or currently play) Star wars RPG or whatever, that I should not provide feedback to WOTC - especially when officially requested by WOTC. It's silly to think a person can only be interested in one RPG for all time, till death do us part, lol.
2 - WOTC ASKED for our feedback. They are "sorry" and want to know what they did wrong. So it's absurd to be angry about people providing feedback when that is exactly what they asked for. If you don't like us giving WOTC feedback - then tell them not to ask for it, lol
Why have I not left? because, like many others, I have spent well over $1,000 (CAN) on this site. I use it for my weekly campaigns. Until I can build up my resource collection elsewhere, which I have just started doing, I will continue using this site. What I will not do is spend my money on WotC/Hasbro products (other than this site's subscription for the time being).
I have gotten 1 notification for non-constructive posting so far since the OGL fiasco started. But the original creator of this post got away with something that is far more non-constructive than my post was.

I find it amusing if people are ubsubscribing but keeping free accounts thinking they are no longer supporting Beyond. Paid account or not, an active account is a contribution since Beyond can use the member numbers to talk about how popular they are, to show the game is still active and alive, who knows, perhaps to even lure advertisers if they chose to monetize that way. And membership is valuable, paying or not.
Except for the fact that they have to pay salaries out of pocket to moderate the forum, so it's likely a net loss with the actual dollars spend far surpassing any actual benefit.

I hardly think ALL subscribers are switching to unpaid subs... And seeing the amount of flame threads being allowed, I cannot imagine their moderator salaries are breaking the bank.

Goodbye from what? Really leave from where?
Instructions too vague to comprehend, I have to consult a rules lawyer.
