Hey there, my first time reaching out here. I’m hoping to find a good group of relatively experienced players who enjoy the role play as much as a good fight.
A little about me… I’m an experienced gamer with too many years behind me ha ha. I really enjoy the story’s I’ve played in and character development, not a huge fan of pvp, but can really enjoy the dramatic betrayal if the DM can pull it off and players can role with it.
I’m also and experience DM, but right now I’m really just looking to be a player character.
yo bro. I have never played in a d&d campaign because I have never found a dungeon master. I'm in Sydney Australia by the way so I'll tell you when I'm available. thx
Hi! My DM style emphasizes player agency, storytelling, and world lore, so I think it could be a good fit with what you're looking for. I'm about to start a short campaign with the potential to lead into a longer sandbox-style game.
The Game: When the local river started making everyone sick, people learned to purify it. Then the fish started making people sick, and the people of Duchy Silvoth lost their livelihood. The issue has finally come to the wealthy’s attention, and you find yourself on the front line.
Hey Trylien, you sound like a great fit for what we run.
I help manage The Nexus, an 18+ LGBTQAI+ friendly D&D 5e (2014) community built around a Westmarch-style structure, where each DM runs their own world, tone, and narrative. It’s ideal for players who care about story, character development, and meaningful RP, while still enjoying combat that actually matters.
Based on what you shared, a few things that may appeal to you:
RP-forward tables are very common here, often with experienced players and DMs
Low-to-no PvP by default, but dramatic twists, betrayals, and morally complex moments do happen when the table agrees and the DM supports it properly
Long-term character growth across persistent worlds, not just throwaway one-shots
Many players are former or current DMs who want to sit on the player side for once
Free-to-play only, no paid games
Mechanical details, if that matters to you:
Characters start at level 3 with a generous 35-point buy
2014 5e ruleset, all official content allowed
No level cap (proficiency bonus caps at +10), which really rewards long-term storytelling
D&D Beyond campaign links used for content sharing
Play-by-Post / TRP options exist, but live sessions are the focus
Because we’re a global community with sessions running daily, you can choose games that match your preferred balance of RP vs combat and avoid tables that lean into styles you’re not a fan of.
