Welcome to The Social Game. Characters will be part of a covert group call the Black Helmet, simply called the helm by most members. They are currently undercover on their way to a party being thrown by the local lord, Sir. Gilgamech, tasked with exposing him for being a fraud and thief, without exposing themselves or the order.
Really, there aren't any restrictions on classes or races, but there will be a lot of social and political encounters, and all players will be participation in them, so keep that in mind. There will be plenty of fighting for the more bloodthirsty players, but quests won't be focused on combat. Starting level is three or four, up to you just to give some more freedom. You start with an extra 1d20 X 10 gold. I'm open to characters having magic items, if you want to PM me about that. Include any you'd like too have when you apply, and we can talk about it if you are accepted. You can use either 2024 or 2014 rules for character creation, but please include which one you use in your post. We will not be using encumbrance. Homebrew is allowed, so long as it's nothing OP. once again, just mention that you are using homebrew when you apply, and we can talk about it if you make it through. I'm most likely to allow homebrew. Most importantly though, just have fun with your characters. I have tried to give players as much creative freedom, so that they can create really interesting characters, that theey will enjoy playing. I am looking for just 2 or 3 players. I'll post again either today or tomorrow regarding who was accepted. I'm not sure how soon we'll start actually playing, since I want to give time for players to fully flesh out their characters, as well as become familiar with the rest of the parties characters. Please let me know if i forgot to mention something : )
I'd like to apply with my duergar druid. Socially, he's a bit of a curiosity to others since few venture to the surface. He can exploit that for what it's worth, though it would also be funny to see him overstep his bounds. What is needed, in total, to apply?
Hey I just saw your post and I would like to apply.
My character idea would be a Half-Elf, College of Tragedy Bard (so using the third party subclass made by Critical Role and hence 2014 rules). He would use the skills he has as a Bard to infiltrate nobles' parties as an entertainer, his lineage would allow him to fit both in human and elf societies and his goal would be to track down corrupt nobles (I haven't fleshed out the background yet).
Regarding magic items, I haven't gone through the list to see what could be fitting and whatever the case I'm fine with no starting magic item too.
My Character is an Air Genasi Warlock Fiend. He has a Gladiator (variant of entertainer) background. His Backstory is that his village was burned down by a dragon, and in a moment of desperation, he forged a pact with a devil. He used the powers (magic) the Devil granted him to make money by fighting in underground rings and arenas.
As for magic items, I’m not sure. Maybe a +1 shortsword as a pact weapon? I’m cool with not starting with any, though.
