I've been looking at mapping apps. Inkarnate is alright but, if I want to put in e.g. cliffs I seem to need to get the pro and not too keen on a subscription. Also, I don't really like the interface. Dungeondraft and Wonderdraft have been recommended elsewhere and from the tutorials I've watched they look up my street but one seems to be used for landscape maps, one more for dungeons and battlemaps - is that the case? Basically I'd like one in which I can do decent landscape maps AND decent dungeon maps - does Dungeondraft fit the bill?
Alternatively is there anything which is just really simple - like, a hex page you can just say "that hex is trees, thats one's cliff, that one's path" and do it that way?
So, maybe someone else will have a different opinion, but Wonderdraft and Dungeondraft to very different things.
Wonderdraft is solely a make maps in a way that is not for grid use and more about landscape and larger detail. Not to say it can't do other things but I have even found it hard to make tows and stuff using wonderdraft.
Where dungeondraft is very much tied to the grid system in how it works. Most things snap to the grid or are designated some way by parameters set by it. So depending on how big you go it can be tedious to to a world map via dungeon draft.
Thanks - what I need is dungeondraft for the "This is what you're facing today" maps and then I can probably make do with Inkarnate for the larger maps
