this is my first time DMing and making a campaign. The campaign will start with Lost Mines of Phandelver (SPOILER) and that secret map near the end will jump them into this story line. I'm just looking for feedback, ideas and any holes in the story that you see. (this is not polished in any way I decided to wait to do grammar until I'm finished)
Nine kingdoms being ruled be nine kings one of them being the high king each kingdom has a number of noble houses each house has jurisdiction over their section of the kingdom and each house is responsible for protecting the people in it in each kingdom the noble houses are under the king and the king is under the high king who rules his kingdom and all the others
World History
12 years ago after ruling for over 600 years the previous evil wizard emperor was overthrown by a group of unknown heroes and a new king and government was established
Plot
The high king was a good and gracious ruler until three years ago when he suddenly became corrupt with power he had the other eight members of the king's council and their families executed for various reasons he then appointed eight new people to kingship who were just as corrupt as him after he became corrupt he legalized slavery, conquered and enslaved the peaceful halfing lands to the north, and began a reign of fear and crime
Plot twist
The high king is actually a puppet of the head of the noble house Atria who also happens to be a very powerful drow mage disguised as a human using a ring of disguise the drow is a hero and the ruler of the underdark after freeing it from the oppressive rule of the mind flyers his goal is to take over the surface world by sowing chaos and in the commotion take over claiming to be a refuge for peace, establish himself as king and rule both worlds
Enemy NPC’s
BBEG Drow Mage Valvan Eldrak

Thank you for taking the time to read this and thanks for any suggestions.

I love drow, rogues and Chinese weapons. I mean come on, rope darts are awesome.
My current character is a drow shadow monk, with a "unique" honor code (give him some time, he's working through some stuff). He also sucks on the socialization side of interacting with all other living creatures. which is very fun to RP.
The map will lead them to some treasure dungeon in the city. While they are in the city, they meet a member of The Order of the New Dawn (a faction I forgot to mention. They are trying to overthrow the high king and rule in his stead) who recruits them to help overthrow the high king. Somewhere along the way they meet Drizzt and learn the truth about the High King. They will then join the Dark Knights in fighting the Evil Drow Mage, Valvan Eldrak and hopefully defeat him. Everything else is stuff planed to get them back on track.

Are you saying that The Cult of the Dread Night might successfully brings back the Evil Emperor from the dead and that could make a good next campaign? I'm not sure what you mean by minibosses

My one criticism of lost mines is how railroad it is. This is great for beginner players and DM's, but, it tends to train a DM in a certain way.
My suggestion to you would be, rather than focus on one item taking the players to the next area of the adventure start dripping in the information earlier on. So, have the players overhear a warrior in the inn telling the tale of the 9 kingdoms, put in a side quest or 2 that drip feed a little information in, have it that when the character finally find that map they can link it to the information, stories and details you have scattered in around the adventure.
or have the Black Spider linked to the Drow that is the BBEG of your next part of the adventure.

I will definitely do this. Do you have any advice on how to give info to the players without them thinking it's the next plot hook?
The main way I do it is making it about emergency, players have a thing they need to do right now to make cash/achieve something, so letting them hear tales of a place 3 weeks travel away is not going to make them jump to go there. Also by making the information vague the characters will be far more likely to go on the solid info they have now. You could travel 2 weeks and see if you can work out what that story is about a king, or you could walk down the road and talk to that dwarf you know has information and a job for you to complete.
As long as the information you present is never in between known quests so making players think they need to latch onto it, and as long as there is always something more important here and now you can give quite a lot of information over this way.

Break this down into smaller steps for me. How do you see your players proceeding?

So is the Evil Emperor the bad guy of the next campaign? And how many of the eight minibosses do you see them fighting?
Are you saying that The Cult of the Dread Night might successfully brings back the Evil Emperor from the dead and that could make a good next campaign? I'm not sure what you mean by minibosses
