I'm running a sandbox campaign. This is my first campaign as a DM. Some might call this hubris, but I really like the potential of TTRPGs to have an open-ended story, more so than most video games.
I think it's going pretty well. It took quite a while, but the players have finally started picking up on my plot and lore. I feel confident that when we finish the current plot arc, they'll have not one, but many competing goals to pursue next, and they might even argue which to pursue first (of course they'll all tie together in the end).
That's great! It's a wonderful feeling where you can see all your work coming together and seeing your players enjoying the time at the table.
I have a mix of Sandbox homebrew/Tales of Yawing Portal/Ghosts of Saltmarsh campaign where I have created this interconnecting storyline. I know how I would like it to end but am also in no rush to get there.

Same. I am eager to finish the campaign, as I am thinking of looking for a new game to run or join. But there are a lot of subplots still to resolve.
