I run a West Marches format campaign locally, and am planning on running a table at a local convention to expose the campaign to new players.
I intend to have 2 hour slots where players can drop in and try it, and will have a "quest board" where players can choose which quest they wish to undertake.
I am sure I can come up with a list of enough quests, but in the interest of variability, I want to know if any of you have ideas for fun, fast, 1st level quests prompts.
The campaign takes place in a land untouched by human hands for centuries, and is now controlled by monsters and the wilderness.
Video games may provide you with some inspiration. Low level quests normally involve retrieving an item/object, escorting someone through a dangerous area, etc. You might also try creating some simple dungeons or tombs and drop the "hint" that they might be worth checking out.
My go to first adventure, search for (npc) in the forest, after some survival/perception checks, fight 2goblins + 1 goblin boss (adjust based on party size) beating the npc nonlethaly. Run the goblins like the three stooges (boss is moe) and can link in secondary objective with npc if there is additional time.

Have some bounties on bandits or other criminals. Some people got lost (or kidnapped?). Someone needs a letter delivered. Not all need to be fighting.
