In my last session, my players defeated the Mummy Lord that was the BBEG of the last story arc that my players went through. I am planning on planting some gold and at least one magic item fitting each of the characters' playstyles.
Besides that I think there should be some minor (uncommon or common) magic items and other, perhaps magical or non-magical items in the loot for this boss. Barely anything would be too much considering the stakes of this battle. Im also thinking of maybe giving spell scrolls and such.
However, id appriciate some good thematic ideas that I could add to the loot of this guy's lair. If you have any suggestions, homebrew or otherwise, id love to hear them!
Maybe when the party investigates the mummies bandages they discover that they are actually spell scrolls.
Or maybe the bandages which provided some necromantic powers of strength for the mummy also can be used to heal. Wrap up some wounds with the bandages and they heal a bit of damage.
Maybe the bandages are similar to the rope of entanglement.
Maybe they find a golden scarab that will serve as one of the characters familiars. Give it the giant fire beetle statistics.
Maybe a coffin that, if examined, will try to trap the character inside. Make them roll a dexterity check to see if they can avoid being pushed in, if they are pushed in, they can start making strength saving throws to escape. This will be more dangerous if placed in a combat encounter.
A jar of preserved honey.
Golden, jeweled, chess pieces. (or some other game)
A folding boat. It might seem weird in a desert, but the egyptians did put boats in their tombs.
A mummified animal, like a cat, that can serve as a familiar. Just make it undead.

These are some cool ideas, ill definitely use some of these. Thank you!
