I am making my own world and would love if anyone could add me on discord and help me out or maybe even join me in the world making process.
This is an outline of my world - so far.
Mystara - The Realm of Enchanted Legacies
Mystara, a realm where the ancient enchantments of the fey intertwine with the beating heart of nature, beckons adventurers to explore its boundless mysteries. Spread across a canvas of diverse landscapes, each region in Mystara holds a unique essence, a story woven with threads of magic, valor, and the echoes of ancient legacies.
From the sacred verdant expanses of Viridian Vale, where divine harmonies resonate through the groves, to the whimsical yet enigmatic realm of Faelea under the gentle reign of Fairy Queen Titania Moonbeam, Mystara is a land where every leaf, stone, and tide holds a melody of lore.
Stride through the tranquil pathways of Silverwood Forest, where the whispers of ancient trees tell tales of the ages, or brace against the roaring storms of Stormwatch Coast, where the relentless sea unveils secrets to the brave. Venture into the heart of Obsidian Abyss, where shadows dance with forgotten sorceries, or traverse the rugged beauty of Crimson Canyon, a testament to the indomitable spirit of Mystara’s denizens.
In every corner, from the bustling trade hub of Port Celestine to the frozen serenity of Frostvale, Mystara’s heart beats in rhythm with the ageless dance of nature and the arcane. Yet, as realms beyond beckon and the veil of reality quivers, Mystara stands at the cusp of an epoch where the actions of the few could echo through the fate of the many.
As twilight casts long shadows over Mystara, the call to adventure resonates through the valleys and across the starlit skies, promising a tapestry of quests, alliances, and the unwavering allure of the unknown. In Mystara, the past entwines with the present, forging a saga that awaits the bold, the wise, and the enchanted.
This is a great start to an adventure, and I think your only problem is the audience. I constantly have the problem that my players don't understand my plotlines. I would advise you to meet your audience before you create more of the story. This will allow you to custom make the adventure so that your work isn't done in vain. Good luck!
I currently have four players in my campaign, but only three of them have shared their character backstories with me so far. I've integrated their backstories into specific locations and elements of the game. For example, one of my players is an aasimar paladin, and I've placed them in the holy city of Veridian Vale. I shared my ideas with them, and they were really enthusiastic about it.
I'm working on crafting engaging story ideas and hooks for my players, but being my first campaign, I might just be feeling a bit nervous about it. It's challenging to convey everything in text, but I'm excited to make this campaign memorable for my players.
As a note, one of the Original Three worlds for D&D was named Mystara, lol. It was based primarily on Robert E Howard, Jules Verne, and Edgar Rice Burroughs novels -- so *very* different from yours, lol. Schick and Moldvay created it and it became the primary base for the Basic/Expert line that existed side by side the Advanced D&D line (1e).
A late retcon placed the first D&D world (Blackmoor) as being in the far past of Mystara. (The three worlds are Blackmoor, Greyhawk, and Mystara, in order of creation, but Greyhawk was published before Blackmoor).
You have a pleasant travelogue there so far, that gives one a sense of the style of world you are trying to create.
I presume you have a rough map, with features and locations, so the next step is to add flesh to the bones.
You'll need 8 cultures, if each of the named places is different, or to figure out a broad overarching culture for them. While not even close to exhaustive, here's a rough outline of things to consider in writing them up (and you don't have to have all):
Introduction ⦁ Topography ⦁ Reputation ⦁ Motto ⦁ People are called ⦁ Goods are called ⦁ Crafts are called ⦁ Greetings ⦁ Honorifics ⦁ Partings ⦁ Folkways Government ⦁ Extent (how far out they actually rule before the wilderness takes over) ⦁ Law ⦁ Policing ⦁ Courts ⦁ Innocence ⦁ Politics ⦁ Titles ⦁ Notable People ⦁ Notable Factions ⦁ Hamlets ⦁ Villages ⦁ Towns ⦁ Cities Commerce ⦁ Land ⦁ Staples ⦁ Resources ⦁ Trade goods (the stuff they have, the stuff they need) ⦁ Communication Military ⦁ Organization ⦁ Unit sizes ⦁ Navy/ Air / Land Perspective ⦁ Values (Virtues & SIns) ⦁ Attitude ⦁ Arts ⦁ Architecture ⦁ Entertainment ⦁ Symbolism (Number, Color, Shape, Animals) ⦁ Time ⦁ Measurements systems Education ⦁ Language ⦁ Literacy ⦁ Provision ⦁ Orders, Schools, & Colleges Kith & Kin ⦁ Gender Roles ⦁ Family ⦁ Courtship ⦁ Lineage Commerce ⦁ Land ⦁ Resources ⦁ Trade Lifestyle ⦁ Daily Life for Lowest class (Indentured, beggars) ⦁ Daily Life for bottom middle class (Farmers/Laborers) ⦁ Daily Life for middle class (artisans, guild types) ⦁ Daily Life for merchants ⦁ Daily Life for gentry class (the rich but not noble) ⦁ Daily Life for highest class

So, I was going to drop in an example of what the above *could* look like (and how you don't have to fill in everything), but it was too long and marked as spam, lol.

This is the biggest mistake I've ever made while DMing. Backstories are ESSENTIAL to a good game of DnD. I would recommend asking your 4th player for his/her backstories. This will allow for a more enriching storyline, and allows you to prepare for more encounters. If your 4th player won't give you their backstories, then just tell them that you can't DM without it.
Yeah I have some pretty descriptive details for all my cities but some you listed some things I didn’t and and some I didn’t think of so thank you so much!!!

Agree backstories make for compelling hooks. Makes the world seem personal and even tho they made the back story, it makes you a flood dm when you use it.
