So I'm planning to have a large drow raid happen to the town my players are in. If they leave the town, they won't know it is being raided. But if they decide to sleep and stay there they (hopefully) will meet a special drow I made. So she is a cleric of Lolth and a rogue. She is (maybe a little to much) favored by Lolth. So she has extra attack naturally, and she has a fighting style. So she does not need to take levels in fighter to be able to dual wield with a decent dmg output. But while she is powerful, so are the players, and she does not want to die of course. But I feel like that running from combat while being a cleric of high standing with Lolth and having been blessed by Lolth, it would be shunned upon to run. Now to give this drow a little more character I made her slightly doubting Lolth and the faith of the drow. Not that she is a female Drizzt but more that she could perhaps down the line become a friend to the PCs. But that is far from certain. But she has like a 14 or 16 intelligence, so when shit is going down bad for her she, would she run? It doesn't seem very drow"ic" to run from a raid. So what would a drow priest of Lolth do when she is certain that she is going to die, or she very quickly can see that these people are just way to powerful for her? What would she do? Thanks in advance! ^^
Drow can retreat, no problem. There may be some punishment for their failure, but it is better that they live so that they can learn and try again.
Now retreat is one thing, but cowardice is certain to be punished. So no fleeing battle without an organized retreat.
(I'm not well read on Drow, but this is my impression).
Also, monsters (and therefore NPCs) don't have to follow the same rules as PCs. If you want a drow with sneak attack, multiattack (2 or even 3), multiple weapons, and spellcaster levels (cleric from priest) you absolutely can.

I do, do that yeah. Like having a boss with character levels have MUCH MORE hp than a normal PC would. I once made a simple fighter but he was a "higher in command" thug for this powerful dude called "Thayan" so he was a 2nd lvl warlock as well. But he had 120 HP even though he was like level, I think 6 total. Because else he would have died after 1-2 rounds. But sometimes I like to just have an explanation as to why stuff is that way, Lolth's favor to her is just an excuse for her to have those things. ^^ So she can call of the attack and still retreat? That would make a great side or maybe even main villain. She gets punished for her failure sure, but she vows to get revenge.
I haven't read up on drow to much either simply because I ******* HATE spiders. I can't stand em! So having to see pictures of a gargantuan spider legged woman is not in my top 10 DM wishes.
Thanks for the input! ^^
