Writing a Zuggtmoy-centered adventure, need a good second act.
Heavy paraphrasing ahead:
Act 1. The small town of Tarna has been overrun with fungi after a warlock serving Zuggtmoy began corrupting the town.
Act 2. ?????
Act 3. The players discover that the city of Auros, a burgeoning hub for airships, has fallen victim to Zuggtmoy. As the warlock summons Zuggtmoy, she enacts her plan to send multiple airships loaded with fungi and dropping her spores flying to spread her influence
Act 4. Final confrontation with Zuggtmoy.
There red will be other minor stuff thrown in there, but I need something more concrete for Act 2. Something that she needs to realize her plan for Act 3.
Also, I need a good name for my warlock. He’s a Druid-turned-warlock after tiring of civilizations disregard for nature.
Maybe they could discover they discover the warlock's plans, and it turns out there are henchmen protecting the warlock that prevent them from reaching her. They could take one, follow one, etc. and end up on a side quest to go into a dungeon to find an artifact that might help them. Just an idea, but I could make more if this isn't anything like what you're looking for.
Maybe she could have some powers akin to the balor. A balor can summon demons (I believe it to be three times a day) and had special weapons, like the flame whip and lightning blade. She could be surrounded by a small fleet of demonic guards, or she could have a large range that infects players with some unknown illness and slows them down or makes it harder to attack/fight. Also, myconids could serve her. They're not evil, but they are fungi people.

When they reach the town, the warlock is gone, having left demons to do their thang.
I do have them finding his quarters, and was originally having them find a map or something, but I decided against the direction I was taking.
Move been considering a demon-slaying weapon, and a quest to find it, but that should come after they first encounter Zuggtmoy.
One thing I’d like to do is find a way for Zuggtmoy to have some extra muscle.
