To summarize, I have a campaign called Chopping Block, where a lot of food is involved. There's lots of homebrew items, including magical food and magic items having to do with food. I've also made subclasses for each class that has to do with food (Here they are), and want to know if it's to limiting and I should make another set.
Here's a longer description.
They're starting in Flavor Town, as Guy Fieri is looking for a successor to his title as king. There's NPC's that are entering in the competition as well, and the goal is to make a full course meal in 2 years, and whoever makes the best course wins. The contestants are allowed to kill each other after a grace period, and join together in groups. The NPC's are also food icon, plus Berry B. Benson, because I couldn't think of someone for the melimancer.
They will end up collecting the special ingredients, and even meat or stuff from monsters, to make "normal" real life food. An example could be a blend of spices from legendary plants, a rare magic potato, a kind of incredibly expensive rice, a magical yogurt or infernal milk, and maybe meat from a dragon. Boom, they made curry. Stuff like that is basically what I hope will happen, where they seek out ingredients themselves after thinking about what to cook.
So if you read that, yea, I put to much time into this meme of an idea. If anyone has more suggestions, it would be great to add onto all this.
This sounds like it's gonna be hella fun! Building on @LeBattery, what if Gordon Ramsey was like a sage that the players can seek out for food wisdom, or the king of an allied nation?
You could populate the world with real-life examples of expensive foods and create classic D&D quests around retrieving them. For instance:
A band of nomadic goliaths tends a herd of specially bred cattle (basically Wagyu beef). The party can conduct a stealth mission to lure away/steal one of these cows.
A kingdom is hoarding the world's only known reserves of saffron, and the king wishes to use it to season dishes from around the world. He is willing to part with a small amount of it, but only if the party retrieves a substantial amount of a rare type deep-sea lobster from the treacherous ocean wilds. To do so they'll have to cross through Storm Giant territory and defeat the Leviathan that protects the valuable crustaceans.
Fables speak of the lost mines of White Truffles. These delectable mushrooms were so sought after that wars were fought over the mines in ancient times. After so much destruction, a powerful mage sealed the mines away so that they might never again tempt mortals. The party must journey through the underdark and defeat monsters/drow/duergar/illithid to recover the lost delicacy
Also the idea of Gordon Ramsey as a sage is excellent, you could expand on that and create a whole series of Wise Folk (basically just famous chefs) around the world who the characters could seek out for guidance, training, quests for ingredients etc...

This is fan-goddamn-tastic. Idk how you'd fit him in, but Gordon Ramsey should have some part to play as well
Glad to know everyone likes the basis! Gordon Ramsey is actually a pseudo BBEG, as in he is probably the most powerful of all the contestants (I haven't made their character sheets yet), and the party would have PROBLEMS if they got on his bad side. I also like the lobster and truffle parts, I haven't though much on sea food aside from aquatic monsters with stat blocks, and truffles never crossed my mind. That is kinda the stuff I've made so far, I'll give a few examples:
Infernal Milk - A milk that is always somewhat warm, and has a little bit of magical flavoring. It's only extractable from cows that have been cursed by demons or devils. Ruby Rice - A special pinkish rice, that is incredibly rare to come across. All of the known amounts are on sale at incredibly high priced auctions. Lion Heart- A plant that makes a very well ground spice, with a complex tangy taste. The seeds can only grow if someone with a brave heart tends to them.
When you have a completed product, consider selling this on DMsGuild! :)
I reskinned the Artificer: Alchemist and renamed it the Gastronomer. It's mostly the same (a few mechanical differences - specifically a slightly modified spell list and resistance to fire damage, instead of acid and poison), but I added some fun flavor text. It's totally free to access. Consider using it if you want.

Also known as CrafterB and DankMemer.
Here, have some homebrew classes! Subclasses to? Why not races. Feats, feats as well. I have a lot of magic items. Lastly I got monsters, fun, fun times.

You could have a magic item or plant creature based on Romanesco broccoli that casts Hypnotic Pattern on anyone who tries to cook it

This idea is good but it seems a little RAW!
I'll see myself out.

Google the Manga Toriko,
You will get lot of ideas there.
I watched the whole anime twice. I got some inspiration from it actually.
