So I understand that having dm characters in a campaign is usually frowned upon. I don't understand the npc creation option on this site fully. It's very overwhelming starting out. So I made the npc into character sheets under my characters. The players ran into them, and is there a way to transfer them into my campaign without having to remake them?
Oh and no they aren't super overpowered at all. They are regular classes. Even dueled one of the characters, and 2 levels higher it was a loss for the dm character. So they aren't set up for deus ex machina saves. Just regular folk. :)
You can put them into the "My Campaign" area of dndbeyond simply by clicking on the link that is available in the campaign for inviting other players. Simply click on that link yourself and choose one of your characters in the "My Characters" section.
If these are NPCs, then you might want to make them "private" before you move them across, otherwise all the players in the same campaign will be able to examine the character sheets - names might also need to change if you want to keep their names away from the players.
Yeah, that should be fine. The opposition to DM characters isn't to "NPCs with character levels" - it's opposed to DM characters that are being treated as characters, i.e. adventuring and trying to solve problems with the players and splitting loot and in general acting like players. There's nothing wrong with an NPC interacting with the party, regardless of whether it's been made with character levels or some other way.

Those are great points. Thank you. I didn't know if I could click the link to my own campaign being the dm.
I will definetely make sure to do all of that. Thanks again.
